GDT: 4/5/2025 - 7:00PM EDT - Tampa Bay @ Buffalo

Cooper really needs to come up with some new lines. All 3 feel stale. If he was willing to separate Hagel and Cirelli it would give us a lot more options. And for the love of god just recall Geekie
I don't think they're going to recall Geekie. Seems like they'd rather have him get a full run in the A and play in the Calder Cup Playoffs.

Not a great outlook for us, very much seems like we've got a 1st round date with the stacked defending cup champion in round 1.

As long as Tampa beats them in regulation, and Tampa goes at least 5-1, there's a chance. Toronto has several tougher games there and two more b2b's. Florida may be stacked, but they're playing less than great as of late, and I doubt they'll be 100% in rd.1 either. Even if they are, Tampa has the weapons and the overall roster to beat them this year, should that be the matchup. The way they and Ottawa are currently playing, it wouldn't be that surprising if Ottawa jumped them should it continue

We can forget about the division win. Just finish strong and get the home ice against the Panthers. This team complete inability to win away games is what will make us go through both Toronto and Florida if we want to get to the ECF. We're the only team besides Montreal and Los Angeles in the playoff spots currently that's under .500 on the road.

Toronto has to drop 5 out of 12 points just for us to have a shot, too much we can’t control. As for Florida, I am an eternal optimist, just not my preferred matchup

As long as Tampa can go at least 5-1 to finish, and they beat Toronto in regulation, they need the Leafs to go 3-2 or worse in their other 5. Toronto is playing well, so it may not be likely, but it's not that unrealistic, especially given the b2b's they have and some of the teams they face.

Agreed, hope it works out that way
