I have a feeling this game will not lack intensity. If anything this is gonna build the fire for the series. Hate to say it, but it's hard to believe Round 1 won't be a blood bath.

I don't think you're thinking about this in relative terms. All contending teams are mailing a lot of games in. It's the new NHL. The last two teams that went hard wire to wire set records and got humiliated in the first round. It's a strategy.

I'm not saying we're the only ones who do this. I'm pointing out the amount mental mistakes we are making while doing it. That is why I cited the end of the 1st period against Buffalo. I don't need us to give 100% all the time. During the threepeat attempt we had a ton of nights where we mailed it in. We might have done it more than anyone. But we weren’t subjected to same the level of mental lapses we've been seeing. I guess what I'm saying is you can half ass a game but still be mentally engaged. We did it ALL THE TIME when we won Cups. And I haven't been seeing much of it this year or last year

Whether we win the 1st round or or not, I'm going into next year probably be the most optimistic I've been since the CBJ sweep. Something told me right after the sweep "We are not only doing it, we are doing it more than once" and I have that same feeling again and can't really shake it.

I guess I just want to see as much definitive proof as I can get ahead of time
