Maybe AV was told by Glen Sather to start tanking for Rasmus Dahlin? And with our strange line combinations with funny D pairings, lol. I hope they prove me wrong tonight!! :D
Conspiracy theories. :)

This one will come down to goaltending. Neither a 4-2 win nor a 4-2 loss would surprise me -- but I do expect to see some scoring.

Who among you are responsible for the Holden-is-bad narrative?

I get complaining that ADA/Smith are out for Kampfer, but complaining that Holden is in is a bit uncalled for. Frankly the only thing separating Smith from Holden last season in terms of performance was the last 20 games, otherwise they were pretty damn similar with a possible edge to Holden, based on DRW fan reviews.

I for one was never a fan of Holden. Not that he is a bad player, I think he tends to rove around sometimes. In a zone system not bad. In our current man to man scheme it means he loses his guy and hes wide open.

But that being said, I only complain because I think Smith is better and solidifies the lineup.

Deangelo I think should play and give him a chance to pick up more of the defensive game, his offensive talent is clearly there.

Kampfer should be in the AHL or permanent press box attendant

Smith can be better, so can ADA

Maybe this will make them angry

Staal said he was angry, right now is playing better, to everyone's surprise.

How do they make the whole team angry?

AV doesn't seem to like Smith, given his press conference today. I wonder how on board he was for that signing. Seems like a Gorton decision.

It should be a Gorton decision to fire this moron

That line is great if you replace Hayes with Miller

Can't have Miller at center. We might end up with the puck and that would derail our turtling.

If AV were to be fired, I feel like it wouldn't happen until a decent break in the schedule.

I guess, for those who want to keep track, the next 3+ day break in-between games isn't until the middle of November.

ADA sitting in the booth like "damn me for possessing the puck! I should have just let Montreal take a hundred shots like Holden and Kampfer!"

Or maybe be angry he is makings some low percentage plays that are resulting in high quality scoring chances against?

The kid can be a very good player, he has the talents to beat a forechecker, and make either a good pass or carry afterwards. Yet in order to do so he is going to have to read the plays a little better.

Smith staying fresh for playoffs I guess. ugh. He needs to play and we need him to be a top 4 dman like he was in playoffs. He was a damn beast. Would like to see TD back in the lineup as well and I'm sure he will be sooner rather than later. Behind the scenes I'm sure Gorton is working a trade for Holden but obviously no need to rush and get rid of him for nothing.

I think it`s great that Brooksi question his D lineup - it keeps AV on his toes. I can`t forsee AV is using Staal on top pairing in playoffs! :)

AV gives the players a lot of rope. It’s not that they don’t play hard for him but they don’t always play focused. And I think it has to do partially with AV not putting the boot to them. Which is probably a good thing long term. But there are times...

While I agree ADA needs to be better. Holden and Kampfer were the beneficiaries of Hank bailing them out when they made terrible plays. ADA did not get the same breaks.

I agree with that, but Kampfer does not have those abilities to begin with. Benching him does not carry any chance of bringing about a better player.

For this trade to work really well, they need to develop ADA, and he is on a short leash, there is likely some reasoning for that, my best guess every coach he has ever had that knew anything has already told him to not make plays that have a high chance of going poorly in games where the team is trying to get it's stuff together, yet he is still making them. If they can change that, he has a chance to be a really good player, but if not, he is going to end up something like a a player a coach only plays when his team is already losing, something like Marc-Andre Bergeron.

Anyone remember Millers blind backhand passes to the middle of the ice from the corner? They stopped, it took a while. Not exactly the same plays ADA is making but low percentage stuff like that being eliminated or at least limited makes for a better player.

Zucc need a new 4 pts. game - we can`t have Evgeny Kuznetsov from caps top of the table with 8 pts!
Let`s go!! :)

His xGA is still exponentially better than Holden and Kampfer's, but Holden and Kampfer "look more efficient" or whatever because they're not actually doing anything. That's more important.
