Trent Frederic for one of the lower 2nds, and maybe a fringe guy that can’t make your roster but ideally has some jam.

It's a possibility, specially with the way Jake is playing, but I wouldn't put too much on this bet unless the odds were stellar. Also there's the remote possibility that Habs are a playoffs team and have traded Evans. It all depends on what the plan is going to be for Jake's agent and for Habs' rebuild.

As much as I theoretically like Frederic in the Devils’ bottom 6… I also want the 3C role to be filled by someone who wins faceoffs more often that loses them, because that’s definitely a need. Frederic is a 45% faceoff man at best and this team already loses faceoffs too much (and it’d get substantially worse if we swap Haula on the dot for Frederic).

Monahan was a long time top 6 centre. Evans is a bottom 6er having a career season. Just cause a GM at some point like gave 1st on Chiarot as an example doesn't mean every guy that ever moves if fetching an overpayment. The fact the post I was thinking of stated a 1st without conditions, I find that a pipe dream. He's a pending UFA. Let's see what the return is for him if he's not resigned.

I don't know what to tell you, he's a 30 goal scoring center that plays well away from the puck too. He's a proven playoff performer. He's having a down year, he's definitely snakebitten and will still return a good haul. My guess is he's been on the Island his whole career and the writing's on the wall and it's affecting his game.
