I don't know if I've ever seen a player completely reverse course like JJ has done this year. Last year you could have set him to a beer league he was that awful. This year? He's a legit bottom pairing player.

Martin was trash his first year here and was absolutely lights out his 2nd. But yeah it's crazy how much better he's playing.

Yes, it was a game against Toronto and from that point forwards the refs were sticking it up the Penguins asses on an every-single-game basis for a long while. Emotional types like Letang & Downie were particularly susceptible.

He is playing exactly how all of us who initially liked the signed hoped he would. He just kind of needed to accept his role, I think. He has completely accepted his role as a 5-6 defenseman, and he's a bargain in his role right now, IMO.
