That's not why York got benched.

Since the Brink line was put together, Flyers are 2nd in GF/60 at 5x5s.
They're dangerous in transition, much better in the cycle, and going to the net more.
They're even finishing at a league average rate now.

Are they winning? No. STs suck right now and the goalies are the league worst.

It's the Brink line now? What happened to Cates? Hey, what's their record since I sneezed the other day? That's probably just as relevant.

As far as tanking, they could have made exactly one (1) move (trade TK) to tank this season. Doesn't guarantee a bottom 5 finish, but they'd be a lot closer than they are now to getting another player who fits the Michkov timeline.

Not that they wouldn't go full Bonk/Luchanko anyway, but that's a separate point.
