We stand in a square formation on the PP and pass on the outside, never making the other team skate. So gross.
honestly they just replaced Zuccarello with Panarin and the 'play' is "do something 1-on-1 or 1-on-2 or 1-on-3 while we stand in place"

they've looked like this since Gaborik.

By generating offense, I mean offensive zone pressure and decent looks. It’s turning those decent looks into goals that’s tough.
Sure, but just generating that pressure alone and forcing the other team to play defense is inherently more valuable than the guy that doesn't generate anything at all. That's what @Machinehead is getting at.

Well, don’t goals matter more than possession? Ideally you want both in a player, but I think that’s the reason.
Not really, unless you can consistently finish at an absurd rate but we're talking about world class offensive players.

Yes, and the Rangers have like three forwards who are above average at that.

the PK just skates at the guy with the puck, stops 5 feet short, and stands there. Zero actual pressure, players instantly figure it out. STOP DOING THAT. HIT THEM YOU SISSIES

Our power play guys just have no confidence anymore. Everyone looks so scared for some reason. It seems like every team we play has an elite PK during that time.

Rangers actually cycle for the first time 14.5 minutes into the game. Including 1 min of a 5-on-3. I guess that's progress.

My point is offensive zone pressure doesn’t win games, goals do. It means nothing if theres heavy zone time but we don’t score.

It really is amazing how calm I feel when Adam Fox is on the ice. He almost always makes the correct play and with incredible poise. And he's 21 years old.

Sure, and you're going to consistently win games if you're consistently generating more offensive zone possession than the other team. The other team can't score on you if they don't have the puck
