Watching this game kills any wish to watch another Flyers game tbh. Got up early to watch this climax of nothing.
They don't play hard, they can't played a skill game.

They just should do a complete rebuild and Torts surely is the wrong guy doing it.

Some silly takes.

1) Michkov needs a rest, his legs are dead. Last few games he's been MIA. He plays with Frost or Couts, TK or Tippett or Farabee, doesn't matter. He's not used to this heavy usage.

2) The Cates line is the best line by a substantial margin right now. All three have really improved this season. Frost is playing well, but can't find the right players around him where it clicks.

3) Seeler - Risto should never be allowed again, Drysdale needs Seeler and Zamula needs Risto. Veterans matter for kids, and those two don't work well together.

4) Ersson and Kolosov are over their heads right now. To be fair, their starting goalie is long gone, so they're force feeding these two. But it's hard to win games when the goalies gives up 2 stoppable goals.

They're making too many mistakes, but this reflects Torts wanting them to take chances, make mistakes and learn from them. Zamula got a goal but was part of allowing two goals, Sanheim was late getting back to his side, they got caught up ice, and so on. Problem is every time they make a mistake, it ends up in the back of the net. Just like the end of last season. PDO 97.9. They're going to end the season top 10 in metrics and bottom 10 in record.

Biggest question is what is happening on the PK? From league best to league worst.

24 goals given up in the past four games, but no, there's no problem here. Everybody is just having bad takes. I guess when you're an apologist for this garbage, you'll say anything to try to justify this mess. It all starts at the top and it includes coaching. It's time to pull the plug on this "we're going to rebuild but be competitive" nonsense because this is exactly what it is - nonsense.

This game was an incredible indicator of where the team currently stands. The Penguins put up 7 on them and I couldn't care because it doesn't matter. I know I'm not the only fan in that boat.

That's grim.
Apathy sets in. They're the worst defensive team in the league under a defensive first head coach, What kind of coach, in a game where they were pretty much behind and chasing the entire game. Plays his 2nd best offensive player and arguably most skilled player the least amount of ice time among forwards?

The mistakes they're making are on routine coverages and have nothing to do with what Tortorella wants them to do. Exact;y what metrics are they going to end up top 10 in?

Torts can’t scratch Michkov in his hometown but he’s very likely to scratch him for the next game which is against the Ducks.

Probably to send a message to the fans that he’s the boss. No Michkov Vs. Gauthier talk allowed.

2 out of last three games losing 7-3.

The team from Newark that certain people talked down about has more than 3x as many regulation wins as the Flyers.

Times are good.

Feels like the end of last season. Doors blown off every game with non competitive scores.

I think the Flyers have been competitive, it’s just that their goalies can’t make a damn save and team defense is an abstract idea with these guys it seems.

I like absolutely nothing about Drysdale’s game. Zamula is completely vanilla that moves like molasses.

Honestly, the defense and transition game looked much better with both Drysdale and Zamula out, and Andrae in.

I have yet to see anything from Drysdale that says former 6th overall pick.

Non competitive scores is different than non competitive games though. I intentionally said that.

That happened at end of last season where goaltending sunk everything to a magnificent degree.

This goes well beyond bad goaltending. If anyone thinks that is the only problem they aren’t paying attention.

Of course it's not just that, but average goaltending would put us in PO zone atm.

Drysdale was the Flyers best defenseman last night. I agree on Andrae. He made an impact.

Another excellent loss. More more more!!

I saw on socials that it was a "historic" night for Crosby? Why is this? Serious question.

I saw he had 4 pts, was he the oldest Penguin to record a 4 pt game or something?

No it's not! It's terrific

Tied Mario for most assists as a 🐧.

This loss is only good if it eventually leads to a restructuring of the whole org top to bottom. Otherwise it's just more cutter Gauthier is the 5OA pick
