Seeler just been shit, nothing, crickets.

What should be a part of the future, one bad giveaway, pack you shit and head to press box.

This guy is such a miserable , selfish :eek::eek::eek:.
Seeler has been strong since Drysdale returned, which is not surprising, while he's Drysdale's caddy, he wasn't talented enough to compensate when Drysdale was playing horribly.

Now that Drysdale is no longer a turnover machine, Seeler looks much better.
It makes sense to pair a physical stay at home veteran with an undersized highly mobile partner who you're encouraging to be aggressive on offense.

Was pretty sure this was happening after York sat the third.

This asshole is so predictable.

Hathaway has looked like shit for several games now and had two horrible defensive zone plays last night. Where's his day off?
You're that eager to see DeLo back in the lineup?
York has been playing badly, this gives him a game off, gives Andrae a chance to work his way back in, and keep Zamula on the ice.

I'm eager for a coach that isn't a piece of shit... or at least one that's moderately consistent through the lineup with his standards of accountability.

He picks on skill guys that don't play the way he wants the game to be played and/or who he thinks are too soft or not strong enough.

I don't care about Deslauriers but I think there's a place for a guy like Hathaway in this lineup. Hathaway has been much worse than York for much longer. Laughton gave the Wings a 3-on-0 and, not only was he not benched, he then finished the game with Tippett and Farabee. If he's okay scratching skilled guys so Deslauriers can eat fists, then surely he can give Hathaway or Laughton a night off for poor play.

Playing favourites with bottom of the roster players is what pisses me off most about "old school" coaches. The game has passed them by and they make teams worse with their stubbornness.

This is also why I hate that I care so much. I could easily be doing something else with my 3 hours 82 days a year. There's little to no fun watching this team and any time there's a remotely fun player he's castrated for a mistake while the mistake prone shit players get applauded for their "effort" or how they play the game. This should not be happening in 2024.

Literally EVERY SINGLE THING has to be rationalized and defended.

Not once can we ever get a “yeah, that’s kinda f***ed up” statement.
Because most of it makes sense.

Laughton's biggest saving point right now is the lack of depth at center.

I mean it's not like they have anyone they can call up in case of injury, Gaucher? Rizzo is months away from being 100% where he can even be properly evaluated (coming off October surgery).

Seeler is Drysdale's caddy, and he may play that role with Bonk when he comes up next season.
I wouldn't want to pair Andrae with Drysdale, that's a scary thought.

Hathaway? He's lost a step, but Richard is hurt, Lycksell is a cusp player, and Wisdom, Tuomaala, Avon aren't ready. The 4th line played well most of the season, but has hit a slump, we'll see if it's a downturn or old legs are starting to show. If they're still struggling a month from now . . .

The bolded is beyond frustrating. Brink, Farabee, Foerster...all fun when they started. But like most fun players, the longer they're here the more boring they become as the team molds them.

Not only that, but this team has the audacity to criticize certain players for not scoring, but take every opportunity to crush offensive creativity out of them in favour of playing "safe". As if this isn't exactly what they wanted in the first place.

Frost is a perfect example, he is now exactly who they molded him to be: a third line center good at defence. A good defensive soldier. You can also see it happening in real time with Foerster and Brink.

Deady don't even bother quoting me with your defence force diatribe I know you have loaded in the chamber, I don't care nor will it change my mind.

Huh? What?

Brink is a lot better, faster, stronger and more aggressive on offense, not just floating around the perimeter and hoping something opens up.

Foerster is playing like he did last season now that he's on a line with Brink and Cates. I wonder if he bulked up too much b/c he looked slower to start the season, confirmed by Edge.

Farabee seems to be just on the verge of scoring but . . . he's the most disappointing, but I think his issue is his frame can't carry much more weight. He was a little faster last year, but still only sightly above average. A bit of a tweener. His scoring has really fallen off this season, doesn't seem to be a good fit with Couts.

I'm not as upset with the idea of York sitting a game (he looked awful yesterday) as much as I am seeing scratch proof vets be entirely immune to being benched. Laughton can't sit a game because he played like shit? Hathaway can't?

Same as it ever was with this team. Glorify the dusters, punish your good players. Wonder why 50 years later your strategy still isn't working.
