The difference is that Igor is young, is playing behind a bad team, is playing his first season on North American ice, has been a top prospect for years, and has been one of the most consistent goalies during that time, dominating everywhere he’s played. Never said he’s going to be a superstar HOF goalie but alright I can’t stop you from putting words in my mouth.

Shestyorkin also has better numbers than Georgiev had in the AHL.
 
This roster is just missing so much solid meat and substance and well rounded players. A bunch of tweeners and role players.

Shesty is ahead of every other goalie in GAA (by far) and top 3 in SV%. This is just such a dumb argument. Add onto that, Shesty has dominated in every league he's played in, including the KHL, the second best league in the world.

He is the future goalie for this team, unless something supremely dumb happens.
