Some very nice saves by Hank (and wide shots from us).. that pretty much sums up the period.

Hope they'll come out stronger in the second.

That period was an abomination. This is one and done team if we make the playoffs.

Obviously it was boring, but an abomination? An abomination is losing 4-0 after 1 and getting out shot 25-2.

Not a bad period on the road at all simply from the stand point that the crowd didn't have a chance to get into it, Ottawa didn't generate any serious pressure and only had a few chances, it's scoreless.

That being said, they really need to come out and pop one in early.

ottawa is a tough defensive team. its amazing they are missing like 5 key guys and still are good

Can someone please explain why Brian Boyle gets preference on the RW over Gaborik?

I mean seriously, does it make a difference where Boyle plays? He's a plug this season. Put our ****ing 40 goal scoring RW on the ****ing RW.

MSG has to stop doing interviews with Richards.... rather have someone who has some personality and isnt so boring :help:

Bleh. I don't get why we can't just have a competent puck handler carry it in and throw it on net. Even when a guy's wide open on the point he dumps down into the corner instead of taking a shot. Only two chances I can remember came off of pretty much unforced OTT turnovers.

So sick of our TOA being nothing but fighting for possession down low. It's frustrating and more than anything downright boring to watch.

At least it's still tied, I guess :shakehead

Not a terrible period for the Rangers. A positive is that we weren't getting hemmed in our own zone. Even though the breakouts could be smoother, nobody was panicking.

Still, the Rangers are losing most of the board battles in the Ozone. They have had almost no sustainable pressure.

The Rangers would also be wise to be careful passing to the point. Ottawa is playing man to man with our Dmen. Hypothetically, that should open more space for cross overs in the slot.

But the Rangers have to be aware of it.

In a game like this, arguably the most important player on the ice aside from the goaltender, is Marc Staal.

Hard liquor really makes these kinds of games go by quicker. weeeeeeeee

Amazing how Maclean can coach a team decimated by injuries filled with young players and back up goalies to a better record then Us .

i appreciate that boyle works hard but im still pissed he screwed up a potential goal oppurtunity from CK. That had a 1-0 lead written all over it

Probably not the best period in the world when Kris Newbury had arguably the best scoring chance of the frame.

Obviously though, it could have been a hell of a lot worse.
