If we’re going to take Briere and Jones at face value, I don’t mind the winning as long as we move Walker, Seeler, Staal etc etc

Jones has been on record saying there is a few ways to get a #1 Dman, they will need assets and/or cap space to do it. It would be extremely helpful to have another 1st down the line to trade for a D or C. If they win and do enough of a tear down I’ll be happy

Suppose they do the following:

Move the UFA group above for 1st and other picks. Or even keep Walker and move Risto instead, then sign Hanifin. He’s not an elite 1 but is a 1 and young still. Would that work?

Then we draft prayers and hope one turns, but covered in the meanwhile with a well above average top pair with Hanifin/Sanheim and bump down York/Hanifin with Risto/Walker. 3rd pair with Z and another kid TBD.

That’s the exact kind of move I think they would make next year, or next summer. I’m just not sure they can afford the loss of assets now - unless its kind of a 3 way trade in a way?

If they can move Risto for some value, I will cry tears of joy.

Oh sorry - in that scenario we are SIGNING Hanifin. Interesting

This team telegraphs what they do extremely hard.

I think you see a Walker extension, and they just love Ristolainen. Those two aren’t going anywhere. Same for Seeler.

Hart is the most likely piece to be moved to get “assets” imo. A foolish idea for a team that is going to have to rely on truly great goaltending to have any chance at success with yet another half ass retool.

@kudymen

Saw the news about home, hope all is ok with you/yours kamarat. Disgusting animal to do that.

Just you all wait til Philly media starts bringing Torts up for Jack Adams consideration. Happy Solstice!!
He and Tocchet are by far and away the leaders there. There’s no question.

I’d like to see the PP become somewhat effective. That’s pretty much the difference between the flyers and other top teams. To have 7 shorties and 10 pp goals is a weird stat line.
