Drysdale has been horrible the since joining the Flyers, and 5 games doesn't change that, that's a fact.
Five games don't change anything.
But it's a good start.
Watching Gauthier struggle at 20, and Drysdale from 18-21 b/c he was rushed, should counsel waiting a year or two before jumping to conclusions.
Either or both players may turn it around, or may not.

Yes congratulations, you have motte and baily'ed all the way back to an entirely mundane discussion absolutely no one cares about or disagrees with. 2 players are young. They might be good. They might not be good. Riveting.

Honestly, the Sundin era was at least more effective in the playoffs.

Matthews is in his 9th season and the Leafs have been to the 2nd round once. Of course, they are playing really well this year, and you only need it happen once, but... seems like a whole lot of money spent on a whole lot of disappointment thus far.

The Flyers have the same number of 2nd round appearances over that period.

But I know what you mean - this franchise will never outright tank. I've accepted that. It also means that they make the path to a SC contender more difficult.

Even with Michkov and, say, another elite talent or two.... it will probably take them a decade to be the team we all want them to be.

We went from last overall to the conference finals in a year in the the 00's. Anything can be done with a few key additions, but i just have no faith in management to deliver them.
