What are the reasons?

  • Poor drafting

  • Poor asset management

  • Poor salary cap management

  • High taxes

  • High public demands

  • Hard to attract UFA/NMC

  • Hard to retain RFA/UFA

  • Not enough full rebuilds

  • Other economic reasons

  • Some conspiracy

  • Bad luck

The media always makes this a thing, fans of teams don't really seem to GAF. similar to my not caring if a different American team wins than mine, I'm not celebrating. Who cares. This isn't the Olympics

Neither is saying b-but the Hawks weren't a normal 8th seed!!!! If they were such a good team, they should have overcome Boston with ease. Instead they got rocked because mentally they weren't that strong, which is why when Dave Bolland came back the Hawks surged and had a swagger that nearly overcame the Canucks. But go ahead and keep posting, it's entertaining.

It's fine, everyone has their own opinion, if you don't think they were an elite team I'm not gonna try that hard to change your mind.

Strange thing to care about, if it ain't the leafs winning idgaf if the oilers win or the jets.

Also most cups are won by a roster loaded with Canadian players
When I got into hockey and was trying to pick a least favorite team, I didn't even consider the Leafs. That's how irrelevant they are outside of Toronto.

...when Nathan MacKinnon brought the Cup home to Halifax, I got to bring my oldest grandson, who was 7 at the time, to meet him (and Gabriel Landeskog) and see the Cup at the Parade they held...we're both Habs fans (teachin' my grandkids THE RIGHT WAY!! :biglaugh: ); it didn't matter to him (or me, for that matter) that they play in Colorado...sure, it'd be nice to see the Cup come to a Canadian team, but it comes "home" all the time, every year...
