You all said the same bs last year when people saw nothing wrong with playing Jank and Sceviour over anyone in Wilkes Barre. Then, Hextall was FORCED to try others after we were decimated by injuries, but then guys like Gaudreau, Z, and even Angello looked pretty good, and were nice additions that actually contributed to the team. Gasp!

Id bring Z back for a couple of games, for one. Hell, try Puustinen at RW. Simon and Laff bring nothing, and neither does ZAR.

It’s laughable that someone like Simon continues to play. It’s utter laziness. We are doing the same ish as last season. It’s like Hextall never learns from his mistakes.

It took Calgary 11 games to see he was worthless last year; he’s about to play in his 24th game this season. This sums up Sully and Hextall. Simon would have played his way out of the NHL on 31 other teams by now. The fact that a fair amount of people didn’t see this is exactly how it would all unfold with Simon this season is disturbing.
I agree. There is absolutely no chance Simon deserves a roster spot over a younger WBS player. It could be any amount of guys. Simon wouldn't produce in the AHL.

Yea, I mean he’s not costing us any games, but he add nothing either. It just seems like a low hanging fruit to fix. It’s discouraging that our sleepy GM and foolish coach continue to play worthless turds, not seeing this as an issue. What other things are they overlooking if they can’t see this?

Your schtick is getting tiring. We are on a long winning streak and Hextall's additions have been a big part of the teams success. We are doing this while missing what would be an entire first line for most teams. While Simon is not anything special, he has been more than serviceable as a 4th line fill-in. In fact, the 4th line has been one of our best lines the last 2 games. Go worship your McCann and Tanev shrines to make yourself feel better.
I don’t worship those players, but the slob fest for Heinen and McGinn is tiring. For every good decision Hextall has made, there is a dumb one too. Heinen has been a pleasant superseded, but then he goes and signs Simon and ZAR.

Granted ZAR and Simon aren't the wisest of signings, I don't think they are so detrimental as to warrant such criticism. No GM is perfect, and if those signing are all we have to worry about, then we are in a pretty good spot imo. Especially while in a 6 game win streak, which is nice to come back to after being gone at Army basic

Only guy in WBS atm that would play a 4th line role better than Simon is Angello. Really not that big of a deal to play Simon lol.

Corsi over 60% lol, he's playing his role very well.

ZAR is a good signing... his defensive metrics are once again among the best, He is a big part of the best PKing unit in the NHL too.

These signings were foolish when they were made; this isn’t hindsight. I think half of the board expressed their concern that Simon would be the next man up whenever we had an injury, and could potentially block AHL players, which is happening.

They should have dealt ZAR, and if no one wanted him, he shouldn’t have been qualified.

Simon wouldn’t be on many teams’ rosters at this point, injuries and all.

We must pretend Hextall is a competent GM at all costs, and overlook his mistakes, right?

Never said that but your constant complaing about players not playing or "being blocked" is a little tired. Simon is no big deal on the 4th nor is Lafferty.

Who should be up here replacing them is a miniscule issue. What mistakes are you talking about?

Just as not keeping McCann who you tired out as well

Let me ask you this Mr couch GM........what would you do?

the decision to sign simon and zar was done on the advice of those that were here before hexy got here.

Simon is making league minimum and if he showed up tonight and drove around the parking lot dragging the Stanley Cup a la George Costanza, he could be waived and wouldn't affect the Cap. I would rather have Angello in his place but he began the year injured. I suppose seeing Bellerive or Puusy in his place would be neat but Sully would have asked for Chaput instead.

I don't get Sullivans fascination with handicapping ERod by putting him on his offwing for Kapanen. It's like when Bylsma put Iginla on his offwing so Neal could play his proper position

I agree that Simon never should've been brought back and even I face palmed when I saw the news. But with everything we have going on right now, if he and ZAR are really all that that there is to gripe about with Wokey's moves then we are in a decent spot imo

He thinks Kapanen is a poor defensive player.

Depends on if they’re still playing when we’re healthy. I don’t care as much about ZAR because at least he knows the pk schematics like the back of his hand. I can handle him on the 4th line because the negatives and positives balance out. Simon otoh, had no real positives.

Bob looks like he’s finally starting to age. Might catch up to Army if he doesn’t start taking care of himself.
