I didnt say we played an entirely great game. But i think that was the best 60 min effort against a >500 team this seasonI thought the third was pretty bad, two goals notwithstanding.

Yes, didn’t think we had a chance against a top team. Statistically this might have been the best game we had all year defensively. We actually won faceoffs and had more SOGs!I didnt say we played an entirely great game. But i think that was the best 60 min effort against a >500 team this season
Baby steps. Baby steps. We beat a backup goalie! If we can win friday( vs another backup goalie ) I may start to find some hope again!
I have always hated his body language. He gets super negative and starts to shake his head and flay his arms when he makes a mistake. He needs to man up and just play hard. He also needs to get much stronger this off season. He’s weak afprobably the best win of the year
starting to get concerned about leo though
Killer got a reprieve when Z didn’t need his cadaver transplant.I’m going to say it. Strome and Killorn were both good tonight.
Same, he's just not producing anything at all it seems like. Its like it waited for his sophmore season to do his rookie Lafreniere/Kakko/Slafkosky/Byfield impression.probably the best win of the year

I preferred Eklund, but an overwhelming amount of text and charts advocated for McTavish. Not ready yet to call it a miss, but not looking good.
They haven't been doing that; like most teams, they dump when there's nothing else to do. For the most part, they're playing for controlled entries, and getting better at it.It was so refreshing to see the team not dump and chase for 60 minutes.

It was close. I actually thought they played a better 60-minute game against the Kings on Black Friday and just couldn't put the puck away. The first 40 minutes of this one were great. The third period...meh.Was that the best game we have played all season? Sure looked like it to me
In the offseason I remember multiple players states that LaCombe looked insane before/during the training camp and that they see him taking a huge step this season. Finally happening.Lacombe has been making a statement lately
Yeah, even with their backup goalie it doesn't excuse Winnipeg getting outshot by the Ducks.Look at it how you want but we just won the best team in the league currently. Outshot them as well.
Eh he’s got 3 years of development on those guys, But it’s fantastic that lacombe is looking great. No real rush on the younger guys, just let em learn at their paceNever disliked Lacombe but just had it in mind that he'd always be behind Minty and Zell in the pecking order. Definitely wasn't any sort of forgone conclusion
Maybe he was talking about someone else’s overwhelming amount of txt and charts….Wow. Look at the chest thumping about Eklund today. Where the hell was this enthusiasm for the past three seasons? Oh, that's right... Mac was the better prospect in those seasons. Now, let's use context and ask yourself if Eklund would that be productive under a Cronin offense? If you said no, then why are you chest thumping?
Why are you attacking me personally with a cheap dig (I am surprised Mods are allowing that personal attack; guess that's the new standard.), but then you try to cover your conniving comment with, "Not ready yet to call it a miss, but not looking good." Are you still mad that I predicted the correct pick from that draft? Get over it and yourself. The 2021 draft was 3+ years ago. Why not use intelligence to understand why Mac isn't producing today?
None of our young forwards are looking good under Cronin. Z (2019 draft), Mac (2021), Cutter (2022), Carlsson (2023) and, to an extent, Colangelo (2020) have not looked good under Cronin. Derek Lee went into depth specifically with Mac and his struggles under Cronin; the problem is how Cronin views Mac as Tkachuk rather viewing Mac as Mac.

Cronin is better at coaching are our youth defensemen to be more offensive than our youth forwards.
LaCombe almost netted goal #7 four times tonight against the Jets. Our youth defense (LaCombe 4, Minty 4, and Zell 1) had a total of 9 shots against the Jets; whereas our youth forwards has a total of 3 shots (Carlsson 0, Cutter 2, and Mac 1). LaCombe and Zell are on the verge of passing up all of our youth forwards in scoring.

Trying to discover why something is working or not working (or predicting draft picks) via qualitative analysis is probably best left to me, since I know how to understand and interpret it. See above qualitative breakdown why singling out Mac is sheer stupidity.
