there’s an echo chamber/defense mechanism regarding Carlsson in here

You guys aren’t *slightly* concerned that his production is lower than last year?

Like, not at all?

Anyway, that was a great period for us. Maybe the best of the year. Let’s keep it going

Some expectations are crazy low for some reason

Barkov, Henrik Sedin and Joe Thornton - There 3 tall centermen off the top of my head who had slow starts to their careers. I'll start to worry about Leo further down the road, a lot of his positioning and thought process on the ice is rock solid. Plus there are still high end flashes.

It’s because we’re the Anaheim Ducks I guess.

Whoever made the Hughes/Barkov comment has a point

But there are also countless (many more) examples of highly drafted forwards who were elite point producers at Carlsson’s age. Like I could name 50 guys of a similar profile that were 60-80 point players in there age 19/20 years

The upside is immense still but I’m slightly concerned right now

Slightly concerned. Still looks fine but he’s definitely not making the plays we saw last year. Not concerned long term, but really would like to see him look like a 1st liner again.

I'll reserve judgement on Carlsson until we get a competent coach, he hasn't been the greatest but even Bedard doesn't look too hot right now

edit: nvm saw Bedard's recent stats I'm concerned

Certain players worry me. He isn’t one.

I'm worried about all our young players that are suppose to be the cornerstones of this rebuild tbh.

I'm not sure any of our young players have taken a step forward, and arguably Carlsson, Zegras, McTavish and maybe Mintyukov have taken a step backwards. At least with Carlsson and Mintyukov hopefully it's just a sophomore slump.

On flipside Zellweger has looked to take a step forward and looks like he could become an elite OFD.

Would love to see the 50 guys of similar profile who were 60-80 point players in the D+2 year. I’m much more concerned with Zegras, and Mac than Carlsson.

Thinking about Zelly and Lacombe and maybe the scouting reports were right on Cronin. Develops D well can’t develop a forward.

I’m not going to list 50 because I don’t have the time right now (although I could). But here’s some off the top of my head

Eichel
Matthews
Mackinnon
Malkin
Bedard
Hall
Stuezle
Svechnikov
Kopitar

The list goes on and on and on…
