Pens (+0.17m)
Giroux (4.14)
Crouse (1.53)

Flyers (-.93)
Chychrun (4.6)
Zucker (2.75)

Arizona (+0.76)
Pens 1st 22 or 23 (Arizona choice)
Hallander
Flyers 23 2nd
50% of Giroux contract (4.14)
50% of Zucker contract (2.75)

would be extremely hard for the flyers to see Giroux in a Pens jersey, so that alone I understand a “no” from them. At this point though, it’s about getting Giroux a chance at a cup

I am guessing Arizona could get more for Chychrun and honestly from a Penguins POV I much rather have Chychrun then 1/4 of a season worth of Giroux if there first rounder was worth that much

I’d love it if this happened, but you realized that you have Arizona giving up Chychrun and Crouse AND retaining $7M for a late first, a second, and a middling prospect?

You’re not even in the right galaxy. I’m not sure if the value is there for the retention alone.

Take out Chychrun and it’s still not enough for Arizona to lose Crouse and eat those dumps. Arizona is literally being ripped off in excess of Chychrun’s entire trade value. Haha.

I don’t think a late 1st, a 2nd, and Hallander is enough for AZ to move Chychrun alone. Then you add the retention and Crouse and this deal looks pretty terrible for them.
Correct. There is a zero percent chance Arizona would move Chychrun alone for a late 1st, 2nd and Hallander. That’s only 50-66% of his trade value, depending on your perspective.

Arizona wouldn’t do this trade even if you took out Chychrun, altogether.

I wouldn't trade Crouse or Chychrun alone for that with that kind of retention. Plus we only have one spot left for retention. In fact there's literally not a single prospect I would trade Chychrun for in the Pens org. Have you guys even picked in the 1st round since Poulin?

If we're trading Chychrun I want an ELITE prospect with high end potential coming back. If we're not going to get that we better be getting a damn good package back. This is neither. And PIT don't have the assets for either.

  Is this a royal joke? Arizona trades both Chychrun and Crouse and all they get in return is either Pittsburghs 2022 or 2023 1st round pick and Hallander and Philly's 2023 2nd plus the Yotes retain 50% on both Giroux and Zucker for basically nothing. I mean come on that doesn't even get you Jakob Chychrun let alone adding Crouse and retaining on 2 players at 50% for nothing. This trade is a royal joke. And why would Arizona accept it?

This has to be the worst post ever!!!
Arizona would want those picks just for retaining. Now you haven’t even posted what they would get for Crouse and Chychrun

Pretty bad for Arizona. Even though I "like" it from a Penguins POV, I say no on behalf of all parties.

This deal is horrific for the Yotes lol. They move 2 of their 3 best players on the team for two picks and a ton of dead money???

The Flyers had to launder Mark Streit's corpse through Tampa Bay back at the 2017 deadline because they couldn't even trade him directly to Pittsburgh. There is no scenario in which the Flyers agree to put Giroux on the Pittsburgh Penguins.

And either way, the Coyotes get brutalized in this trade.

Chychrun by himself is worth two 1sts and a good prospect.
Crouse by himself is worth a 1st.
Eating $4m in dead cap (even for only half a year) is worth a mid-round pick.
Eating $2m in dead cap for a year and a half is worth another mid-round pick.

Instead, this deal gives them a 1st, a 2nd, and a no-name prospect.

I do not want Giroux in Pittsburgh. We shouldn't be giving up that for a rental. Pass.
