That too. Silver has no spine. No one says he has to be a dictator but he went so far above and beyond the opposite of Stern.
It seems Silver didn't start watching Basketball until he got the job. One thing I liked about the Olympics is that the refs let them play. You don't see so many tic tac fouls that don't impede play. It's the reason why flopping is at an all time high.. Players know when they are dribbling to the basket an embellishment 8/10 is going to get them a call. Every time a player throws his head back is an embellishment 95% of the time. The eye in the sky should be able to call it down or a coach should be able use a challenge.

I think the league being run by the players ( hello there Mr. James ) is what is killing interest in the NBA.
I should have added " run by players and their agents " to my post with Rich Paul easily being the worst offender. Hmmmm.....Mr. James and Rich Paul - is there any link there ???? :dunno:

So Chicago Boston had 109 three-point attempts

Hearing inside the NBA talk about it is hilarious

Look up Shaq talk about it.

He ain’t mincing words, the league is a joke

109 attempts

Shaq can't shoot 3's.

Coaches are trying to utilize the 3 point shot more often than previous years yes. I don't blame them. It's entertaining to watch a lot more air balls now. This transition is exposing the less talented players/teams that's for sure.

Great topic. Nothing is going on in the nba with no prime LeBron James or no prime MJ. The league desperately needs the next real generational talent in the nba but that'll have to wait apparently. Or get some real rivalries going which would be wishful thinking in one of the softest sports world wide.

Lebron is the reason the leagues ratings are down. He ushered in positionless basketball. 6'8 power forward who plays on the perimeter. He's not a point guard because he takes most of the shots as opposed to 6'9 Magic Johnson who scored when he needed to but was always a pass first player like a real point guard and played defense. When Lebron gets the ball the play is stand around and wait for him to give you the ball. Also because of zone defense offensive plays don't result as much many defenders being out of place because of a well run play. That hurts the NBA too. You couldn't defend the the Bulls triangle offense, the Spurs high low twin towers, or the Utah Jazz give and go.

exaggerating much?
NBA is great today

Shaq Chuck and Kenny van GTFO, Ernie is the only likable guy on that hatefest of a show

Great today !!!!!!!!!!!

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
NBA viewership is down 48% since 2012 and 28% on ESPN year-over-year. The new in-season tournament is already down double digits from its inaugural season a year ago, and four of the five lowest-rated NBA Finals of the past 30 years have occurred in the past four years

Major polling done shows fans are sick of many things with today’s NBA.

the league is loaded with talent today. unfortunately, that's the only positive i can think of. everything else about the nba is shit these days

IST is stupid and a hail mary by the league to improve fan interest and ratings, but people would've still tuned in if there was a team like the lakers, knicks, or warriors playing. no one gives a shit about the bucks or thunder

That is what everybody is saying
The talent is off the charts according to the athletic poll.

It’s just Zion being fat
Players in $50k street clothes sitting on the bench
It’s just not a likable product.
Even though the product is very very very good

The product is not very very good though. Players make too much money that hey don't care. Once they get to the NBA they don't develop their game anymore.

Agreed.
3 point shot is fine, if you can make them. But, just chucking them up isn't entertaining. Too many guys acting like they are Curry/Clay. They aren't.

Players can't sit out games. Either the NBA reduces the schedule and everyone's salary or the players needs to play. Load management is insane and puts fans off. You can't buy tickets until you research that great player's schedule as well.

Players have too much power in who should be the HC.

I haven't paid too much attention to basketball since the mid 90s, the amount of points teams score now compared to then is unreal. As for their current issues of too many 3 attempts and load management, why not move the line further out and shorten the number games in a season?

guys regularly shoot 3s from the top of the logo. moving the line back won't do anything

I think what I’m trying to say and Windhorst was taking about this yesterday

The talent in today’s NBA is insane. Like Wemby and Luca. So that’s the product being very good

Like I agree the players do not care, they have so much power, and that’s it,
it is not a likable product though

Call me old fashioned but another thing I can go without seeing is everyone running around with ball like a RB before shots

Seriously traveling violations going uncalled is beyond absurd at this point

It isn't primary issue of course but still its awful to watch

Also players should be allowed to play D and things like hand checking need to be brought back into game

Lebron saying "I love the NFL but Christmas is our day” as a cry for ratings really shows how bad things are getting.
Total little brother energy
