I'm not saying they would, but why risk it? Torts is not a mind reader. The way Torts was chirping from the bench, it was clear he felt he had to send out his fourth line. Post game quotes will be interesting.
 
Salvador getting a 10 minute misconduct was absolute horsecrap too. Call it "third man in" if you want... he didn't throw ONE punch... was attempting to break up the fight as Carter was on the ice bleeding like a pig and Bickel is still throwing punches.

Roszival got the same 10 minutes for holding Cooke off Drury post fight a couple years ago when the Ref didn't help and Cooke was hitting Drury on the ground.

Its been called before.

Absolutely. Agreed. He also clocked Bickel three times as evidenced by the three separate cuts on Bickel's face. Don't tell me what Bickel did afterwards didn't make that look worse than it would have been. I'd say he gave more than he got.

There should be an amendment to the instigator rule. Obviously Salvador was not "ganging up" on Bickel.

Go on the other side. If the Rangers put out their goons and Deboer had the option of just starting guys like Kovalchuk and Parise etc. would you trust they wouldn't just grab a guy a start swinging?

And would you want to be the guy responsible when your star goes down with a broken jaw or something? I wouldn't.

Btw, that was ****ing unreal to watch.
 
And they want to remove fighting from the game! Just take a quick glance through the ten pages of this thread and there is no chance the game should have fighting removed. :laugh:

I hope these two end up playing eachother in the playoffs. What a series that would be.
 
That was awesome.

Sure, you don't want to see one guy wail on another guy when he's down, but if you don't like any kind of fighting, then hockey isn't for you. If you want it gone, then you can GTFO

You do realize that the Rangers scored a little over a minute after this whole brawl, right? That it was almost entirely irrelevant that Torts could have put his first line out there to just "skate by them", right?

I'd rather put some fighters out there just to ensure that none of New Jersey's goons think they have free reign on New York's talented players.
