If they want to try and infuse the bottom 6 with someone new(ish), they could try Geekie back up, but there's also Duke again, maybe even someone else from the Crunch. I realize it's unlikely, but sometimes a call up can provide a spark. This would only be if the team continues to struggle offensively, which I doubt will be the case, as today was likely just an aberration.
Would be interesting to finally see Logan Brown back up here now that we have the ability to call him up.

Tough schedule so you can't put a ton of stock into this game, but it's another one where there is just no pushback or energy when you're not firing on all cylinders. BriseBois misjudged the build of this team and it shows in games like these, despite adding at the deadline. Eyssimont was heating up in the 2nd half too, and now he's gone. That loss stings because he is a lot better suited for a limited role than Goncalves.

They'll bounce back from this one but man, the losses are so lifeless and boring with nobody who can turn the tides with their energy. Nobody in Syracuse fits the bill for that either.

if we lose to a good team it means we're not a real contender because we can't beat the best, if we lose to a bad team it means that we're not a real contender because we can't beat the bottom feeders

we just went like 10-1, we're going to lose games lol

For sure, but it'd how they lost today which I think has infuriated most. If they play with effort and lose to a better team/effort, or if an opposing goalie stands on their head, it is what it is. To a man, they played like trash today from pretty much puck drop to the final horn. That can't happen much more if they want the division, and in a season where that matters more than most, it is just very disappointing to see this late in the year.

Stop over analyzing games without our HOF captain defensemen.
There is a common theme in the losses, that's all. When the skill isn't doing their thing, we are toast. TB used to manufacture comebacks in different ways, whether it was changing the playstyle a bit or guys creating a spark by getting a bit angry. Now, that's completely nonexistent. Turning the other cheek and being kept on the perimeter when the going gets tough. Very noticeable compared to years past.

I’d like to have some extra grit and snarl down the stretch. I wonder if Khaira down in Syracuse could ride shotgun as a 13th forward/cement.

Sat down to watch the game, put on one of the other live games (silently) in the background...made it through 15 minutes, looked at the other screen at the wrong time, saw the score...no need to see us losing to what's left of the Bruins. Not surprised given how flat the performance was in the first period.

Bruins have won way too many games in Tampa over the years for my liking.

Umm, no. The Crunch are also relying on "team toughness" since trading Kale Kessy, who was a press box fixture far more often than playing. There is literally no one in the farm system that fits the bill of being anything close to be a Maroon type player. Organization opted to go with finesse over toughness back at the start of the Cup runs, which is amazing when it works but does leave the fans questioning moves when it doesn't.
Jeannot was supposed to be the answer, but we all understand how that worked out. Watson is contributing very nicely game after game in Grand Rapids, as evident by his new two-way contract with the Red Wings. As Duke gets regular ice time in Tampa Bay, due to his abrasive, in your face play style the team is going to need someone as while he will fight his own battles, he is going to get hurt battling the much larger players in the NHL.

Just watched the game. That was terrible from start to finish. Wow. Doesn't get much worse than that tbh.

We are one dimensional in style. Agreed with the posters mentioning lack of grit. JBB did well with the Gourde and Bjork trade but should've done 1 for 1s or 1 for 1 + futures to get a guy or two in the bottom six. This team really hinges on whether 77, 86, and 88 show up or not. They get neutralized and we are f***ed.

Eh pass. Lily needs to just whoop ab ass or two
Right now Lilleberg is mentally out of it. But that needs to change, and I think it will, or I doubt he has a future here. He must find that physical game he played earlier this season, big kid has the tools he needs to do it.

The fight started because he put a pretty good hit on Morgan Geekie trying to exit his zone.

The team looks like it gassed itself playing so well defensively in Feb.
Precisely my concern with lethargic unproven guys in the bottom 4 or 5 forward spots. There's not a crop of guys able to grind down the opponent or punish lower pairings like we had for three or four years. The scoring depth has been depleted and so has the grit. Hope they get it together but there's like four or five guys nightly that don't move the needle for us. Too many passengers in the bottom six.
