I like that lineup above. If all of Lev, Rinzel, KK show they're ready, just roll with it. Del Mastro and Lev wouldn't be your typical rookie pair because they're both beasts physically. The other two young guys are sheltered. Very nice.

And I love the goofy personality. So excited for him, and our budding young do-core. Get Rinzel and KK in there, other fanbases are going to be envious and pretty soon.

I was at the game last night, mostly to watch Lev intently, very impressed with his play in all 3 zones. The one rush in 3rd period reminded me of Big Buff-LOL

Other takeaways: the team doesn't move or catch passes in flow, very similar to a baseball team that plays station to station. I lost track of how many passes were made to a guy standing still, 40 feet up ice. Even when completed, there was nothing the guy could do. No puck support nor outlet at all!

Thought Bedard's best play was catching a tough cross ice pass. I'll save judgment until talent arrives that can exploit his skills but right now, his vision is the only thing elite IMO

23, 84, 73, 17 need to go, NOW. Let some more kids get experience

The game was nowhere near as close as the score would indicate. NJ was toying with the Hawks for large portions of the game.

The food and dessert cart were great though

For the current state of the team and for draft purposes, those numbers are right about where you would need them to be if the purpose is to secure the best pick possible. Goaltenders stealing wins a la Carey Price in his heyday kept bad Montreal teams from getting high picks in drafts when they really could have used some high end talent. It's a gift and a curse in a sense.

Down the line however, the team will have a real hard time winning games if that's the kind of goaltending they'll get. Knight looked baddddd on a couple goals last night.

Once the team turns the corner, having the goalie(s) steal a game or two will be more than welcome.

Championship game is April 12. The Blackhawks have two games after that (4/14 at MTL and 4/15 at OTT). A back to back just off a championship run might be asking a lot but there will be the theoretical opportunity to get 2 games in no matter what happens.
