GDT: 3/23/2025 - 8:00PM EDT - Tampa Bay @ Vegas

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
12 games left, Tampa likely needs at least 16 out of 24 points, including wins over both Toronto and Florida, to have any shot at the division. In all likelihood, 18 out of 24 points is likely needed. Possible, but will be difficult.

Weekend ruined
It's unfortunate, because if Tampa had just done the higher % play and get the 2 points last night, sure, there'd still be moaning and groaning about tonight's laughably bad performance, but they'd still be on pace for 1st and have had a good road trip overall. Instead, they failed the road trip and have fallen off the pace for the division. Every point is so crucial now and imo they cost themselves 2 important ones by this decision.

Somebody who knows these things explain the Lilliberg penalty to me. Guy had the puck on or next to his stick and contact was first made at the top of the crease extended. That has to be at least 15 feet from the boards. It wasn't a hard hit. Does this matter at all? If you check a player from behind with the puck at the top of the circles but he's already off balance and he bambi's into the boards is it still boarding?

Puck circled showing an empty net if he gets a shot on the goal and the path he travelled into the boards.

Player gets injured = officials typically call a penalty

Rule of thumb nowadays

Yeah idk we're playing two of the best home team in the league on a road back to back felt like scheduled losses but still annoying given the race for 1st. Luckily with all the games the three teams have against each other it will still remain close for a while.

I don't understand why vasi didn't play against utah but chose vegas. Cooper with his weird decisions.
Would a gassed Vasi have given us a better chance against Utah than Halverson? Maybe.

Would Halverson given us a better chance against Vegas than a rested Vasi? Nope.

That was probably their equation.

Could’ve beaten Utah and had Vassy napping in Tampa while the Bolts play Vegas. Two very important points lost.

I am looking forward to seeing what this new look team does, we've got some guys I think are going to be monsters for us in the postseason...but we'll see
I apologize for waiting so long to respond but I felt last night I was too emotional.

I wanted this to be a measured non-emotional, logical statement.

Here's where I am at with this team and I will tell you why I feel this way. And for the record, I am not considered an optimistic poster. Hell, if anyone listened to me, Cooper would have been fired a long time ago. Total mistake.

I would say to you...many of us KNOW now what a championship team looks like. We've seen it with our own two eyes what is needed on a roster from top to bottom. That doesn't mean we are all qualified to be GM's in the NHL. All I am saying, is that in general we know what a winner looks like...and what the roster should like like. I am sorry...and I'll eat the crow any day...but this isn't a championship caliber team. We have PIECES of that...absolutely 100% agree. But overall? I wouldn't put us in that top tier. Can Vasy go Vasy and steal us a title? Sure. Anything is possible.

I'll add that doesn't mean every season is a failure. More that we are spoiled brats(some of us).

Again, I apologize for waiting so long. I really respect your opinion and almost everyone's on here so I felt that I should be uber-respectful in my answer and last night would have gotten some garbage response.

You're good.

I wish we had a time capsule of the 2019-2020 season, this entire forum reeked of pessimistic calls to blow it up and fire Cooper. Much, much worse than the temperature of this forum right now. Look how that turned out, not many thought we were watching a championship team that year either. Feelings are fickle.

I'm content with my opinion that this is a championship caliber team, no one has to conform to that opinion, doesn't mean I don't think we couldn't get knocked out in round 1 either. Playoff success comes down to a lot of factors
