I missed this game so just checked stats when I got back. Any reason why Zucc wasnt on the PP tonight ?

Completely OT:

The FOMO Hockey commercial with the son and his dad getting hernia surgery. They are 100% a real life father and son. They look identical.

#1 - Lundqvist
#2 - Stepan
#3 - Nash

HM: Girardi, McDonagh, Staal

Jagr was a force on the ice tonight. You have to respect his ability. He generated chance after chance, and I thought he was arguably the best forward from either team. He just can't find a way to beat Lundqvist.

I am still shaking my head in disbelief about St. Louis not being able to finish on the empty netter. You HAVE to close out that game in that situation. Instead, Elias deflects it away from the open net, the puck comes back down into our zone, and the Devils come THIS CLOSE to scoring a game tying goal. If they scored there I would have been screaming at my television in disbelief from St. Louis not closing out the game. We still need to get this guy going. He's been a complete dud thus far, despite playing some good games and making some good passes, he isn't producing like the elite forward we need him to be.

On that one PP in the third, Diaz had some outstanding puck movement. It was a breath of fresh air. Our PP didn't finish, but he looked great on it. I would definitely like to see more of him out there.

And that's the end of my analysis.

Was having Nam flashbacks with a #4 on our power play. Then Diaz touched the puck and all was good. Can't remember the last time we had a dman who made such quick decisions as he was during that 2nd PP.

I'm sure that will all fade away after a few practices though

Perfect defensive hockey.

If Mcdonagh isnt the best defensive defenseman in the NHL, somebody tell me who is.

Tonight was vintage Lundqvist. One of his best games of the season. No rebounds. No losing sight if the puck. Challenged every shooter.
