  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Came out hard in Vegas last year, very winnable if they're skating stride for stride with Vegas from the start
Yes, but on the road in a 2nd half of a b2b, that game, especially against a very good opponent, was always going to be less of a winnable game based on the numbers. Idnrather have seen them get the 2 points today and ensure a good road trip, rather than gamble tomorrow.

Disagree. It's about percentages and maximizing point totals. Yes, they can beat Vegas, but the numbers say it's much less likely, regardless of who's in net. Even more so on the road in the 2nd half of a b2b. You get the better chance at 2 points today against a worse opponent with your best lineup.
I understand your point but I am a hockey genius and know what I'm talking about.

Although the D was not up to par, Halverson made himself look very small on many of the Utah goals.

At least the Panthers lost and the Leafs are behind going into the third.

Quite a few things stand out here

I know blaming it on Halverson seems pretty weak but I think his play style and lack of being good definitely threw the whole team off. In my experience teams either rally around bad goalies and play amazing or they compound the issue by playing incredibly sloppy
Personally felt it was the opposite. Halverson started off perfectly fine and made some good saves, then got betrayed by his defense and his confidence tanked.

He's played a ton of regular season and playoff games, lot of wear and tear.
Father time gets us all. Played a beer league game last night at 10pm and did yard work today. My legs and back are sore as hell. I am missing my game tomorrow in the 35 + upper division to recover. I am 38 so I can imagine how the wear and tear fells as you age competing at the NHL level and taking that kind of physical punishment game in and out.

Why were Mosers minutes so low?
He's a nice player but some of the talk surrounding him this season is just crazy. "Moser has been fantastic!", people putting him above Cernak on the depth chart etc....Nothing more than a steady, quiet d-man at this point in time. Which is still very respectable. But let's not kid ourselves about this guy.

Coming off the injury he deserves some more games to get back to his full ability, but he is insanely overrated by Bolts fans. Almost like its compensating for Serg or something. A very clear #4 in terms of immediate value to the team. Just does his job, steady, quiet, and a nice compliment to Hedman...but pretty soft and isn't playing the hardest minutes.

I don't say this to disparage him at all, he is a good young d-man who will trend upwards but the praise I have been seeing this season is just so over the top. People need to pump the brakes on him. I know it doesn't answer your question about minutes but I'm not surprised to see it, he hasn't been all that great lately.

This is why you start Vasy today. Utah is a much more winnable game than Vegas, even with Vasy in net. They win 4-2 today most likely with Vasy in net, and then even if Vegas beats them tomorrow with the sieve in net, at least the road trip was successful and they're not that far behind in the division. Now, even with Vasy in net, the odds tomorrow are not great, and another 0 points is very costly.
An unforced error by Coop, win in Vegas or it’s a 2 point miscalculation, which is massive under the circumstances

What do you consider overrated? I would say he’s clearly a #3, lacks elite offensive puck skills to be considered a true #1 and lacks a physical edge. Reminds me of Matt Carle but who knows how to play defense.

With the way this season has gone we'll probably win tonight.
