That Gunnarsson - Kostka pairing is no good.

Gunnarsson is clearly not 100%, he doesn't have the mobility or the speed, so why is he being played? Is a slower, injured Gunnarsson really better than Liles? And why has Komisarek not even sniffing the lineup? He played well to start the season...

Scrivens is easily the worst puckhandling goalie in the league, I dare you to prove me wrong. He gifted two points tonight, I can't wait for Reims to get back in the crease.

At the end, yes. But the leafs should have put this away against an AHL team. No excuses for the lack of offensive production. Also, Carlyle chose the wrong players to put on the ice at the end there. So focusing solely on Scrivens is unfair. I admit he was bad though. We need JR back!

No Lupul, Frattin or Gardiner? You dont think thats hurting our offense?

Nobody seems to be beating that "injury riddled" team.
2 shoot-out wins, and then lucky goals against us. Point being 3 of their wins in the streak could have easily been 3 losses. They are riding the energy of their new guys right now, new players excited to be in the league. High compete, really want to show they can hold their own in the big league rubs off on the whole room. Once that wears down they will probably come down to earth, and their injuries will really start to show.

your point ? they are "injury riddled" and have tons of AHL Players. They didn't even have superstar Anderson. Plus I didn't say they couldn't beat them (which we still couldn't) I said we can't even play well against them. which we didn't just a disgraceful game.

I really like Zibby though. He's a stud

You saying typical Leafs can't beat an AHL team: My point is that it's not like we are the only team to ****ing lose to them. They've been winning without Spezza/Karlsson and now Anderson

JVR needed to show up THIS game and didn't... Same with Kessel. Two complete no shows!

I'm not sure this is the case. They played good defence on them, shut down the middle. If anything it is up to others to step up. No one was going to the net, only Kadri was trying to create something out there. PP didn't look all that great. Ice was horrible and puck was bouncing all over the place. There were no tape to tape passes out there.

Honestly wtf is up with Kessel. I love him and what not and I'm really liking how he's really setting people up out there. But come on this is a 40 goal scorer. freaking Score for petes sakes. 3 goals is just horrible for a guy like Kessel.

Randy is just as guilty this game by outsmarting himself. He should have used Bozak or Steckel for the face-off -- two far superior face-off men than Grabovski.

I know. (I had to pull some bread out of the oven).

You CALL a time out. you get your best faceoff guy out there. and your second because you KNOW he'll get waved out in this game.

It was like he had brain fart too.

but whatever. We would have been 4th, but we're 6th. Sometimes I think we need games like this to wake us up, and get things working again.

I had a feeling the Senators would score when Scrivens froze the puck with 20 odd seconds to go.

Hope the win against the Habs wasn't the high water mark because they haven't really played with that intensity since.

This was terrible.

I feel crushed, sick even, what a terrible way to lose a hockey game. Scrivens rebound control(or lack there of) costed us 2 points tonight.

It'll be interesting to see how the team responds after this heartbreaker.

Me too, now I have to live with Sens fans bugging me all week and beyond.

There are only two teams I need the Leafs to beat and that's the Sens and the Habs. Keeps their fans mouths somewhat shut. Damn it!!!!!!

Scrivens bobbled two pucks that ended up in the net.

We played an alright game, but **** happens. Heck, right before that, Kostka was all alone in the slot and missed the net. If that goes in, or even hits the goalie, the sens don't go the other way and score.

However, I am impressed with this Sens team. Down their #1 D, #1 C #1 G and #1 RW and they are still on a 4 game win streak.

Hopefully Reimer is ready for Monday.

he has great defensive awareness...if you go see a game..you see this in person.

He doesn't get paid $3.25m a year for defensive awareness, he gets paid to be a 200 foot player, Kuli's been clueless with the puck for the past two years...I want him gone ASAP.

Why? There was no icing, I don't believe that group was on the ice all that long. How come Grabo never took Greening to the net?

Blame the coach but it is not his fault they couldn't complete a pass all night, showed little to no passion and his goalie couldn't even hang onto the puck. Scrivens is looking at the ref too much-just make a play. If anything he should have moved that puck because he had numbers and we wouldn't even talk about this one. 2nd and 3rd goals are all Scrivens, he didn't play well and makes you wonder if he can really be a back up NHL goalie.
Because with a defensive zone face off you put your best face off men on the ice. Grabbo is not out best face off man. Pretty simple

The positive to take away from this is the fact that despite playing like crap, the Leafs still kept the game close.

It would have felt much worse if the game was lost by 2, 3, or even 4 goals.

No it wouldn't, to lose a game with 24 sec left, and not even earn a point is far worse. Everyone expected at least a point -- it's the expectation that leads to the bigger disappointment. This one stung.

at least 2 of those wins were luck wins. plus they Had Anderson one of the best goalies in the League this season. But now ? They are bare to the bone with AHL talent. Just because other teams can't beat them doesn't mean the leafs shouldn't too.

Anyway I know you win some and lose some It's just we didn't even play well against them.

Probably the only good thing about the loss: We don't have to hear the Sens fans whine about their injured players.

Yes, but now they're going to claim how much better their team is going to be for the playoffs when they get them back.
