[FIELDSET="QUOTES TO NOTE"]

Playing harder was something that we addressed after the first game. We didn’t think we competed hard enough, especially with one on one battles.
We thought we could’ve competed harder and I thought we did that tonight. From finishing our checks to making sure we were tough on them in the defensive zone and the offensive zone.
- Ryan Callahan

We just played a lot more desperate hockey. You don’t know if you’re going to win or lose. That’s not why we won. We didn’t just say we’re going to win.
We played a solid a first period. You could tell we were back in the game, everyone was physical and we handled our surges and that was a good sign.
- Brad Richards
.

I really liked the way we responded after they scored, we came right back at them and we kept pushing the pace.
Obviously, we got a little bit lucky on the third goal but part of this game you need a little bit of luck and we got it there.
- Alain Vigneault

Will be interesting to see if the Rangers can bring the same energy to the ice that they brought last night. This team is playing way faster under AV than they did Torts, and I hope it's a sign of things to come - and won't slow down as the season progresses.

LGR.

Marty tonight or Thursday?

After a brief trial run, we will return indefinitely to the old GDT/PGT format. No analysis thread. The underlying reason is practicality.

Oh well. Guess I won't be hanging out on the boards tonight between periods. I thought the new system was working pretty well and brought some of us back.

These 4:30 starts are going to be my demise...

Just do what they did in the Kings game and we have a good chance of getting at least one point.

would definitely start Hank again. Wasn't really tested against LA, and we have to get him in his groove.

Very odd to me that Burns is playing forward. So much more valuable as a defenseman.

And I know he has been doing it for a while.

Not really. He's an excellent forward and has great chemistry with Thornton. Watch him closely tonight - he's remarkably similar to Rick Nash.

This is hardly fair. We lose 4-1 and we have to sit on it for 3 days and we don't even get 24hrs to enjoy a win.

Burns is not on the #1 PP unit

1)Marleau-Thornton-Couture
Boyle-Pavelski

2)Burns-Hertl-Kennedy
Irwin-Demers

When Havlat and Torres get back, I would assume Havlat will replace TFK and Burns will go to 'd' and replace Demers.
