Putting aside the long-term for a moment, I’m not even sure McKegg’s one-game upside is better than Barron, if they wanted a pure center tonight.

They don't care about upside. In the short term they will always err on limiting the downside, even if its always a negative expectation.

Panarin will get going. He’s never had a bad season, I doubt he’s about to just fall off for no reason, but he has really been mailing it in so far. Hanging out at the far blue line, handling the puck like he would if he was messing around with some men’s league ransoms. I’m not worried about him, but it would be nice if our players all uniformly showed up from time to time.

We really fixed up our bottom six which is great but I'm not sure that was the problem.

The problem is that our top six scores a bunch of points in half the games and does literally nothing the other half.

That's why I wanted to mix up the lines with Goodrow and Blais slotting up.
