Speculation: 2C Options

He’s being paid by Nashville next season IIRC for the buyout, so if he’s not asking for some crazy amount. I can’t see him leaving.

He seems extremely happy in Dallas.

They can move Dumba, Marchment. There’s other ways to open up some space.
Dumba for the Price LTIR contract? Puts you on LTIR from the start but gives you 3.75 in soendable cap.

What makes you think the kings would make him available?

He’s in year 1 of a team friendly 5 yr deal and coming off a career year.
Recent #2OA with unicorn size and a ceiling he hasn’t hit yet. Seems like one of the least available C’s in the league.

Didn't L.A. recently hire Ken Holland?

I know they’re both injured again but is there a rule preventing trading injured players?
Have no idea. But No way Devils would or are going to consider trading them. They are especially rumored ti want to trade for Quinn Hughes, or let Hughes come to them in free agency to complete the Hughes three together as a family

If Devils desire Quinn than perhaps Heischer (the whole injured thing could get in the way) + would be coming back. So Heischer would be a 2C available, right?

No. They are building contender, not a one line team. They just need to wait two years if Quinn says no. It’s not a debate.
Of course it’s not a debate; it’s a hockey chat form. We present opinions. Heischer would be an excellent 2C.

Brock Nelson just lucked into one of the most fortuitous off-seasons imaginable. I’ve always liked big Brock but he will be 34 years-old when the season starts this fall and his days of being a 30 goal threat or 20 minute forward are assuredly over. 0 goals and 16:52 TOI in the playoffs this year.

But everybody needs a “#2C” and there’s more than a decent chance that he, incredibly, will ends up as the top available center in the free market if JT, Bennett and Duchene all return to their teams - it’s going to be one helluva retirement deal for him…

What would be the price? Lambert/1st/+?
Cirelli shouldn't be available. Even if he was, Tampa would probably only look for a player that helps them right now (while also trying to then salvage something at the giant hole they'd have created for themselves at 2C).
