Dont expect the vets to be sat. Gudas with the C isnt getting scratched unless they are trying to send a message to leadership. Dumo is the next guy on the blueline to be traded, so they will want to be showcasing him. Trouba, I just dont see it happening, hes easily the best vet Dman right now.

I do wonder if that's the reason why the D-pairs are what they are tonight. Dumo was Minty's partner to start the season.

LaCombe-Gudas
Minty-Trouba
Zell-Dumo

I guess keeping Zell at LD makes more sense now b/c we have RD Helleson and RD Luneau in the mix. Defeats the purpose of RD Zell for this year and next. Although, we may have to re-visit it come 2026.

Trouba always made the most sense for Minty in my mind. Which is why when Minty was eating hot dogs in the press box, it made sense that Trouba was paired with Fowler (at least for the first game).

McTavish, Killorn, Vatrano, Strome, Terry will be on the list again the next time he has a shift where he holds the puck too long for some people…they’re already there.

The latest Derek Lee article on Mac does soften the stance on Mac and puts more of the blame on Cronin. Mac still does look bad, though. Cronin needs to bring back 2023-24 Mac. IMO, Cronin's been the #1 culprit since last year. I was way ahead of the curve with objective stats and observable boringness during the games about Cronin's offense along with his inability to adapt so we can improve our chances of winning games.

Someone reported/X'ed that Fowler was the #2 worst defender and Trouba the #3 on the list. It's gonna be interesting, for sure!

I am starting to think Cronin does not like Leo very much. Just keeps stapling Killorn to him even though they have never complimented each other on the ice.

To be fair to Cronin we don’t exactly have good options to put with him…. Outside of terry

Team full of 3rd and 4th liners

True but I'd at least rather it be someone that doesn't have one of the worst average skating speeds in the league for his position, Gauthier and Carlsson are both around the same speed and would make more sense together than Killorn who should just be on the 4th line with Harkins and Johnston.

Cronin had a chance to elevate Colangelo into a top-6, scoring role to see if that could be a possibility. But Cronin believes Colangelo's scoring in the AHL was symbolic and used Colangelo as a 4th line grinder despite the puck always finding him in NHL games.

They should mcgin with Gauthier and Carlson
Yeah I remember McGinn got a little cameo with Carlsson earlier in the year and it was good. His forechecking, pace and motor are way more beneficial to Leo's game compared to whatever Killorn has been doing.

I don’t see Colangelo as an NHL top sixer, but perhaps I’ve missed something. He’s OK, but with more talented youth and vet FA’s that are on the roster, don’t see how he fits there. But Cronin is an easy target.

Is that really a solution tho?

Leo produced when he was with Z or with Terry. Z is out now, so Terry would be the only option but Cronin is trying to set up 2 scoring lines. I kinda agree with him, but it’s not working due to lack of depth and his system.

Instead of trying to construct a potential Top line. They only have maybe two 2nd lines, and a couple of 4th lines. The production drop off is so bad after Terry.

It’s tough …. You’d hope mctavish/Vatrano/killorn stepped up but they havnt really.

Cutter and colangelo are rookies that may have that upside later in their career, but right now they arnt exactly going to solve this issue

team came out with a little pep in their step

Shoulda started dostal tho

This is why Cronin is a bad coach

It is a possibility if given the chance. Unless you too think Colangelo's scoring in the AHL was "symbolic". Colangelo is still the 2nd best scorer on the team despite being with the Ducks for eight games, or 20 days.

It is hilarious that you of all people dislike a youth displacing a vet.
