In a sense this is kind of what I want. Not in this fashion, being up 3-0 and then potentially losing right at the end or in OT, but 1-goal games where we lose.

I'm all for it if we can make the playoffs, get the kids some experience there...

It's that middle part I don't want. Winning just enough to not get a lottery pick and miss the playoffs. I want the kids to learn and be competitive but I also want something to show for it after the regular season, whether that comes via playoff experience or a top pick or two...
