It’s really not. 4th liners are so overrated by hockey fans. You need 4 lines to win, but the bottom 6 is not that important. Having star power, a great defense, great goaltending, etc. are all 100x more important.

2M is prob too low to set the floor. Most teams could use *a* guy in his late 20s early 30s who will muck and grind and blah blah blah.

There are plenty of guys who can play just as well as Fast (or better) that will take less money. A successful team does not sign 2/3/4 free agents to fill their bottom 6. You do that internally.
