I like the equating of our superstar goalie to a back-up rookie who played at the hockey powerhouse of Alabama before being signed. We should hold them both to the same standard, obviously.

Unfortunately, I think some people feel the need to make that point, because there's somehow a group of people who think we should trade Hank or let him walk during FA because of Talbot's play.

I look at it more like we do have a dearth of folks failing in providing fair and objective analysis no matter who's in net.

The only fair and objective analysis would be to take the two players' apparent skill levels into account. Frankly, I think Hank is quite a bit more skilled than Talbot. He probably would have stopped that shot, too.

One of the things is not like the other. I think it's perfectly reasonable to place less blame on a rookie back-up than a superstar player. Once Talbot starts asking for 8M a year we can start blaming him for more things.
