let's discuss these awesome memories

My biggest memory of that series was listening to it on WFAN.. I was a 12 year old kid then.. No TV in my room.. Just a radio, the memories of Howie and Sal just a different time.. I did watch Game 7 though.. I remember looking straight at my mother and saying to her it’s been 54 years since they have won a Cup.. To be this close and can’t watch it would be unfair.. What if I go the rest of my life without seeing it again??

Who would have thought?? I still hate the Kings and think the refs had it out for Hank..

2 years ago, my now fiancée asked if I wanted to go to the 1994 Celebration game against Carolina. I decided to fly to New York for a weekend to attend the game. Despite the 3-0 loss to Carolina, it was such a great experience. All the former players in the building. For once they had more than just the same 4 players getting some attention haha.

On the one hand it was great to see that celebration and event, but on the other hand it was a bit sad that they put so much effort into celebrating something we have not been able to repeat for a quarter decade.

I was 13 years old and at the peak of my fandom. Now I am, uh, old.

The thing that this makes me realize is that 54 years really isn’t a long time. We’re half way there already and it feels like the blink of an eye.

If anyone wants me to share the long form poem I wrote for my middle school newspaper about the team, let me know.

Not Karpovtsev.

I would have been 36 and in my 22nd year following the team. Next year will be my 50th season.

I remember the entire Stanley Cup Run as a roller coaster ride. Unless you’re rolling through teams it’s a manic depressive’s nightmare. We rolled through the Islanders and Caps but the Devils and Canucks were different stories. Even the final game was a nail biter. That goofy linesman Collins at the end refusing to call two separate icings that would have ended the game.

I also remember that summer’s roller hockey league. One of the teams from Corning all wore Rangers jerseys that year. This idea that the Elmira/Corning area is Sabres territory is a crock.

I mean 2.5 years is not that long. :p

I was a year old and my mom was pregnant with my brother, yet she still let my dad go to every home playoff game for the Knicks and Rangers that year. God Bless that woman.

I was at my friend from school's house along with a few other friend-classmates watching the whole playoffs. We screamed. Jumped up and down like mad dogs and hugged each other like there was no tomorrow.

i was 38, been a fan since mid-'60's,
family got our seasons in '71 when Sunday games began selling out
had been through the Finals of '72 and '79
and those runs in other years
('86 on my honeymoon in Caribbean, pre-Internet, getting 2-day old scores of the 2nd round Caps series, from the Int' Herald Tribune, coming home in time to be in building for Claude Lemieux's OT winner at MSG in 3rd round game 3 ... grrr)

what a great run '94 was ; my son was 3-1/2, now 30
i look forward to him enjoying a night like that himself

My best hockey memory, obviously. And my favorite Rangers roster as well, despite how short lived it was. I still have the commemorative special section Newsday did a few days after they won the Cup.
