Some CEO met with Jobs.
There was an agreement and all they needed to do was both CEOS sign. Both boards made the agreement.
Jobs was like so 250 million. CEO says wait we have an agreement. And Jobs is like yea we do but if we just block your company from Apple products how much Is your company worth?
Jobs brought a contract down like 100 million 30% of its value in just a couple of minutes.
Crazy.
This was before Governments took over with how they did business. Now they’re constantly in trouble for trying to continue the Jobs method of negotiating. They’ve been in hot water a ton for their Apple Store tactics and how they purposely make it harder for certain developers that they just want to be an asshole to or are trying to make a similar app/feature that they’re accidentally on purpose stealing and adding it as a new feature.
It’s funny, what blokes will praise Jobs for in older stuff, is the exact things they’re in trouble for now because everyone got wise to his bullshit tactics and are now taking them to task for it. Apple of course is one of the richest companies out there, so it’s just like a bug on a windshield for punishment to them, but they set some precedents and have paid out a lot of lawsuits without as much losing even a tiny bit of value to their stocks.
Mind you, I say this as someone that owns a fair amount of Apple stock, doesn’t mean I think they’re always on the up and up.
