They are very capable of playing poor defensively and are not going to make playoffs but I still like when they win. We are still in a rebuild. Tomorrow they could play a great game. Who knows?

One year of moral victories was enough for me. I want to see this team win and this year.

Edit: Obviously this was a real victory, was a comment on the rebuild.

Yeah, plus they are only 2 points out of a divisional spot. Atlantic is really bad. So much time to turn it around.

There have been times through the years where I could see a potential effort issue.

I really don't see it with the group. Nobody wants to admit that the coaching change and roster overhaul did nothing for our defense and we have larger systemic issues.

the system they seem to default to as a group isn't good for a variety of reasons, but we've also seen them do the forbidden arts of neutral zone pressure and standing up at the blueline before in isolated games. so they CAN do it, they just dont.

but defense when you're playing zone comes down to disruption and taking away time and space, which can best be achieved through high effort and hitting them.

so, pace and physicality.

This team has some skill and can score but I'm disappointed that they continue to play so poorly in their own end. I thought we would see progress in that area by this point in the season.
