Coincidence or not that fact that we were on a fairly good run until Fowler came back is actually comical.

Fowler returned to play on Dec 4th. The previous five games before Fowler returned, we went 2-2-1. We faced only one above-.500 team in that 5-game set. We actually began to struggle against sub-.500 teams before Fowler's return in Buf, Sea x2, and Ott. We went to OT with Buf and Ott, winning only against Ott in a shootout.

Since Fowler's return, we have faced two above-.500 teams and two sub-.500 teams. We were struggling against sub-.500 teams already. Our record is 0-3-1. We could have won the Montreal game if our PK was still great or if Dostal didn't screw up on the puck behind the net that lead to a goal.

In these past nine games, the Ducks have scored 2 or fewer goals seven times. That is how inept our offense has been. The other two times we scored more than 2 goals, we won both games.

Something has to give.
Not f***ing Carlyle. If anyone could be worse than Cronin, it's him. He's a dinosaur who couldn't adapt to the new NHL. At best it would be a lateral move and that's being generous. No Carlyle. No Eakins. No McIlvane. We shouldn't be replacing failure with more failure. And if they hire Quenneville, I'd drop this team until he and the GM who hired him are fired. No matter how well they would do.

Probably the hardest game to get through this season for me. They had nothing.

At this point, there's no way to defend the decisions that Cronin continues to make. The lack of progress, cohesion, and success of almost every player is shocking. Adding insult to injury is the fact that multiple vets have clearly given up. Fowler, Killorn, Strome, Vatrano, and Gudas have just been awful for most of the season. The young players are being misused and it's clearly hindering their development. That creates a ripple effect down the organization.

Verbeek really needs to make some changes. Cronin, Fowler, and Killorn have to go. It can't keep going like this. Part of me hopes Toronto dominates so it forces Verbeek's hands. It just has to end.
