Snowblind would have had a heart attack if Lundqvist let that up. That's what I meant the other day, a goal like that happens almost every game.

That said, glad to see Richards get on the board. And it's great to see us winning this 2-0 in a game we came out with a flat offensive effort.

All right here's how I saw in that period:

Territorially we got dominated but I honestly don't remember a tough chance against Lundqvist. The goal was a gift, but huge.

Yes I would have. However, Thomas is also 500 years old and sat out a season. Thomas, I think has always been a guy susceptible to soft goals more than most elite goalies it seems.

There's a big detail you're ignoring:

Best goalie in the world.

Retired goalie.

Best goalie in the world.

Retired goalie.

If we were losing this game, everyone would be bashing Lundqvist. But we're winning, and not one word of his good play tonight.

Not a terrible period; we scored the goal, which was obviously huge, but although they carried the play in our zone, they really didn't get that many quality chances. Lots of low % shots, and Hank played well in stopping them.

at center ice... anyway recap please Just got in.

I'm with you on that. It seems to be a static situation, and something has to change if they don't improve, which I agree with you on -- they aren't going to improve

The thing is there's no reason he [Stepan] can't improve. Lots of young centers come in the wrong bad on faceoffs and get better as time goes by. But for his career he's been .385/.445/.459/.431. That's really unacceptable and by being that bad on them it will hurt his ability to be a first line center and really hurt the powerplay. I don't want to try to use one guy to make a point but for example Crosby won .455 his rookie year and now is up a .519 guy for his career. Kopitar was .461 his rookie year and now is at .505 for his career (~.540 the last three years.).

As a whole this year rookie centers are 1733 and 2010 (.463).

curious to know if you guys feel same way about this team now with a lead after that loss in tampa

Wolfpack win 4-1

JT Miller had a good game 1 goal 1 assist
Danny Kristo 1 goal
Kantor 2 fights

Yes, I figured a guy with Stepan's skill would allow him to make steady improvement in that area. The team needs at least one good faceoff guy in the top 6.

Honestly, I think our team has looked flat today. It's nice we're up 2-0, but we're up 2-0 over one of the worst teams in the league (who has admittedly been playing better hockey recently), but we haven't gotten many chances, and Thomas gift wrapped one for us.

After losing 5-0, I thought we'd honestly put in a better effort than this.

I agree, Florida looks like the team that just lost 5-0. That said, I'd rather be the team up 2-0 than be the team down 2-0 and playing well.
