Last time I checked the league scoring leaders, most were Not top 5 picks (9) playing on the team that drafted them. You can find talent.
Last year's top 25:
Kucherov #58
MacKinnon #1
McDavid #1
Panarin UFA (T, FA)
Pastrnak #25
Matthews #1
Draisail #1
Rantanen #10
JT Miller #15 (T)
Nylander #4
Kaprizov #135
Forsberg #11 (T)
Reinhart #2 (T)
Crosby #1
Q Hughes #7
Point #79
Makar #4
Petersson #5
M Tkachuk #6 (T)
Aho #35
Thomas #20
Marner #4
Josi #38
Bratt #162
Bouchard #10
Hmm, 15 of 25 drafted 11th or higher including 10 in the top 5.

Yeah, picking high doesn’t matter.

And a number were traded. And the price generally wasn't exorbitant.
If you keep accumulating assets, you can find ways to get talent to fill your holes.

Are you telling me the Flyers scouting staff have given you confidence they know how to find those kind of talent levels outside of the gimme picks?

That the slugs they put in player development roles will help that happen?

If only Rome had brought more men to Teutoburg.

The Flyers paid more for Risto than the Panthers paid for Reinhart in the same offseason (3 days apart)... from the same team.

Some teams can find ways of acquiring high end talent outside of the top of the draft. I'm still waiting for one of those teams to be the Flyers.

No way I'm positive about the state of the team. Positive they aren't going to accomplish anything of note. Have fun enjoying medicority
what's so hard to understand you need depth to win cups, if you think a mcdavid is just going to carry a team to finals and win it you are not watching hockey because you shut them down it's pretty much game over.

Yes we are hoping they get depth.

Depth builds from the top down, not bottom up.

What the hell are you even arguing? 1st you asked if I expected them to win the cup which I said no because of poor coaching and lack of offensive talent. Then you said you liked the win over the rags and called me negative cause I didn't. I replied enjoy a mediocre team. Your retort was to say that 1 player can't carry a team and thay they need depth to win a cup? Can I borrow your GPS cause you've lost me on this one
