I’d say it’s a team problem. Wouldn’t say it’s soley on one person, that group is incapable of getting it done. Matthew’s has produced in the playoffs

What that Copp is garbage? He’s a perfectly good bottom 6 player. I like some of the stuff watson brings but I like him as a 14th forward type that maybe plays 10-15 games, brings energy and can fight. He definitely shouldn’t be a regular

If and when the DRW make the playoffs, are a legit Stanley cup contender for years AND continually fall flat with Larkin meeting the aforementioned parameters( franchise player, #1 center, captain and highest paid player) I promise I'll say the same thing about him...

Although I think the sens will beat the leafs it’s laughable to say Matthews is the problem and marner is better cause he has 2 more pts even though Matthews doubles him in goals

The reason the top caliber, highly touted, TML continue to fail in the playoffs has everything to do with Mathews not Marner.. Mathews is the teams top dog in EVERY sense of the word...that's it and that's all..

Maybe that will change and the Leafs will see more success though I doubt it.

This is not about the DRW or which of those guys I'd take today if I could have any of them. That said it's not as cut and dry as you suggest

Neither Matthews nor Marner are playoff gods, but they aren't horrible, either. Toronto blew too much cap space on four forwards in years the cap stagnated and they couldn't afford to build a proper team around them.

Now, they're still kind of shallow up front and their blueline is still questionable. I wouldn't let the playoff resumes of either of Matthews or Marner stop me from signing them.
