Do that…with the additions of Mazur and Danielson, and ASP by mid-yr, and re-signing Kane…and we should be able to make the playoffs.

I agree with this for sure, I think Pionk could be added to that D group as well
Don’t think we need another small RHD personally.
While I don’t fully disagree, at this point I’m more about getting good players, can’t be overly picky

34 yo Stamkos got 8x4. Tavares is ppg in year 35. Give him 3x8.5. We absolutely need a 2C more than any other spot on the roster. Period. And it ain't Kasper, not yet.

This summer SY has to inject some actual talent from outside the organization into this lineup...
No more meh FA signings and no more trades around the fringes...
A proven and legit top 6 forward AND a proven and legit top 3 dman or else time to look at succession planning in the GM role.

There are some good ncaa free agent players available I hope the Wings take a look at. Dalton Bancroft out of Cornell is exactly the type of player the Wings can use, power forward type with size and grit. TJ Hughes is another one, there are a few more as well. These are the types of smaller moves that don’t cost a lot and may pay off and address needs

I think Bancroft is spoken for. Can't remember who, but someone was on the verge of signing him but Cornell's season was extended.

That would figure. He’d be a nice pick up for this team, he reminds me of a Jack McBain, Trent Fredric type of player. There are a few teams interested but as of yet have not heard he was signed.

Maybe the question should have been, should they?
I don't get why he hasn't been signed somewhere already.
Outbidding the league for Marner should be Plan A, B and C.
But Tavares should absolutely be plan D.
And Marchand should absolutely be plan E.
If you strike out on all 3, better to just sign whatever one-yr stop-gap you can and to try again next yr.

What a disaster of a plan. Tavares or Marchant? Why? In the case of Tavares do we really need another old, soft shelf of his former self to over pay for years? In regards to Marner, sure, outbid the rest of the league and do what you can to get him here, then explain to your captain and locker room how you nickel and dime them on negotiations while you back up the Brinks truck for Marner. Yzerman needs to get creative this summer, get offer sheets out for RFAs, trade some of his prospects. If they’re going to overpay for anyone I hope it’s Sam Bennett

I’d sign Bennett, offer sheet Jack McBain from Utah, sign Fredric, trade Compher to the Blackhawks for whatever you can get, sign a few McCall free agents like Dalton Bancroft and TJ Hughes, Re-sign Kane and focus on the draft
Tavares has more goals than any player on our team and is over PPG. If that’s washed up then sign me up.
As far as the nickel and dime comment I would simply ask them if they want to win or not? And if you don’t want me to pay for top talent then show me you are top talent because those guys being our top guys have gotten us exactly 0 playoff games

What has Marner won? He’s on a loaded Leafs team and besides his scoring he seems to be known as someone who’s a bit of a baby. As for Tavares, same thing, what has he won? And again, we don’t need another past his prime soft player.

We aren't signing him for what he has been, but what he is coming to be, which only has downside, only question is how hard the trajectory is. Would stay away. Had we been a contender, then yes maybe add cheap, but not as big signing.
