Crosby’s 40 and getting 8+ ....yes I know he’s not Crosby but should we get another compher copp? No ones trading us a byfield cozens at this point

He’s still producing ... he’ll turn 35 in sept so we’d have him at 35-37 ... if we have to make a move like this to get in the playoffs ... who else can we target Elias Pettersson? I’d take him in a heartbeat look at dozens playing well ... that guy just needs a change of scenery. Doubt Canucks move him

Anyways we need an impactful player .... maybe make an offer sheet but teams will most likely match. It’s slim pickings

I agree 100% he stays especially if marner finally gets some self respect and leaves the team that keeps trying to trade him over and over

Not many options for us if we want to sign someone who’s not another 3rd liner to help us get in the playoffs.Figured the shorter term higher money would also be goodnsince he’d come off the books in 3 yrs

Marchand would also help but he’s sticking in Florida if we’re being realistic. Again sadly not too many options. I’d be pushing hardcore for Pettersson if Canucks are done with him

Looks like a team that can contend for a playoff spot for sure and get in... one things for sure this team needs to add some toughness ... I don’t know how many hits he has this season but maybe jeannot can be an option for the 4th line ? If he can go back to his old days? Again no idea who’s available but we need to add some physical guys who’ll take no shit

Trade for a few powerforwards , done with teams like Ottawa thinking they can do what they want. Was nice to see edvinsson challenge tkachuk but we need some other guys so someone like edvinsson doesn’t need to do so

Crouse should be a guy we look at trading for. Frederick another guy in FA along with Jeanot

7x7 for kadri certainly was a gamble a couple years ago (yr we signed copp), but paying off for the flames thus far. mofo has 30 goals this year.

Have always been a fan and should have been leafs captain IMO.

Copp and Compher are both poor 2nd line centers but pretty good 3rd line centers. They may actually have some value given the term left on their deals and the cap going up. Fingers crossed at least.

Wanted carouse years ago, now he’s on the 3rd line I think and doesn’t seem as good? Frederic would be good but he’s a 3 and danielson should be here as a 3c next season so I don’t know if he’s needed

I’d say top 6 c and a left side dman to pair with seider is most pressing need as well as just some guys who bring toughness and don’t take any shit

I’d say offer sheet mason mctavish but no way veerbeek lets him walk even if we offered 7.5 per

I’m still delusional and hoping we can move compher for Bertuzzi In a deal. Those centres look horrific and Bert is slotted on the third line and I’ve seen him before on the 4th. We know Bertuzzi and had chemistry with larkin and Raymond and plays a style of hockey we need. The captain would screech like a little girl if Bertuzzi came back

I think there’s a deal that could work

They were never 2nd line guys . Fans were just so desperate to end the suckness they deluded themselves into thinking we solved our 2c problem

With danielson coming and if Kane returns who I think belongs on the 3rd line + ppl time if it were up to me he’d be on the 4th line for 2 yrs

Don't understand the logic. Kane has 16 points in his last 13 games and has been the only guy that has maintained consistent scoring since Todd came over. Kasper has been excellent between him and Cat. Let's bury that on the 4th line though, because who needs a PPG guy in the top 6?

Are you serious? He has played 200 more games.

They both average exactly 0.36 points per game in their career.
They both have size and are career underachievers and ‘fake’ tough guys. Produce the exact same offensively and have played mostly checking roles on bad teams their entire careers.

I’m all for getting rid of Ras. But trading him for Crouse and that 4.3M per contract is the definition of shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic.

For a whole extra million dollars per year?Give me the guy who actually sticks up for his teammates and doesn't shy away from any form of physicality. Ras is a 6'6" muffin and has proven he doesn't have the mean streak to be an effective (power) forward.

I agree with everything you are saying about Ras.

Lawson Crouse has 32 penalty minutes (2 fights) in 71 games. I do not think he is the big bad wolf that you think he is. I would rather trade Ras for a 7th round pick and reset that 3+ million cap allotment entirely then just reallocate it (and then some) to the same type guy.

Completely understandable. I'm just tired of icing that turd and hoping he'll live up to any sort of draft pedigree, and at a certain point I'd take 85% of players in the league over him.

Hes been good especially on the ppl and I never said put him on the 4th line. Nothing wrong with having him on the 3rd and being a ppl specialist. If anything makes our team deeper

We suppose to just rehash the same top 6 next season and expect it to change? I wouldn't be mad to see him back but if we're looking the same in the top 6 unless we add a real top d and goaltender nothing will change

wonder what Crouse would cost. Been able to score 20 goals in the past, but this year has scored all of ten and has seen his ice time slash down to 14 minutes.

Perfect time to get him. I have a friend that is close with him and he really doesn't like being in Utah. Detroit would be very close to home for him as well
