Zegras is 23 and a former top 10 pick who came out of the gate with back to back 60+ pts . Hes not mantha or AA
There's zero doubt if he was traded to the right team he'd get 60-75. The whole ducks team is mess . Carlsson, mctavish, gauthier etc.. no ones putting up good numbers
All that being said I'd take him but not at any price but theres other guys I'd rather have ahead of him. He is in the right age of guys we should target to be on this team longterm
Not some near 30 aging vet who's best years are behind him who'll end up being the next copp, compher etc.. we cant get rid of
True... but just cause some guy named oddbob on a msg board thinks he sucks doesnt mean he'll be in switzerland in 2 years eitherWho says? Plenty of players have great start to their careers and fade into nothing.
Lmao too much talent on that team I dont know what's going on. I'd take mctavish in a second but I doubt they'd move him2205 might hit the Ducks timeline for a Cup.
I don't disagree with that (in terms of best case for Ammo and real good prod for Buch) but its now been two seasons since Zegras has even trended towards those kind of numbers so it comes down to who do you think is more likely to do this in the future. If you think Zegras has the higher likelihood of repeating then maybe you make the deal and the spot for him. If you think Ammo and Buch could do it while also potentially being better defensively and/or better goal scorers then probably not.Zegras 60-65 pt seasons are Lombardis absolute best case scenario, and would be a very good outcome for Buch too. Zegras has struggled for a few years but it’s not like he has never shown potential.

What does my name have to do with anything? That line of thinking can literally be applied to every single person on this or any forum worldwide.
Cozens would be the forward I'd pursue but I just cant see sabres dealing with another division rival especially after how reinhart has done in floridaI don't disagree with that (in terms of best case for Ammo and real good prod for Buch) but its now been two seasons since Zegras has even trended towards those kind of numbers so it comes down to who do you think is more likely to do this in the future. Zegras is very skilled but has not produced in 2 years, has to supplant existing small skilled players in the Wings system, isn't great defensively, and is not going to be cheap either cap wise or trade asset wise. If Anh deals him as a cap dump/ change of scenery swap I could see the Wings being interested, but if they are treating him like a former top 10 pick who has 60 pts I don't think there is value in a small winger deal for the Wings.
Cozens is interesting because the Wings lack centers and bigger wingers in the system. We basically have MBN for sizeable wingers. Even if he proves to be a bad center, he still fits the current makeup of our system better. He has similar warts to Zegras (same he hit x points 2 years ago, etc), but I could see the Wings taking a gamble because he compliments our other pieces better.
What do you think the price would be?? He has struggled for 2 years so I can't imagine a team would give up a 1st and a top prospect/young player on the rosterI wouldn't thumb my nose at Zegras, but I am probably not willing to pay what it would cost to acquire him. This guys sure does live rent free in the heads of a lot of Wings fans.
