I've always wanted EP40 on the Wings for years. I hope if he's on his way out of Vancouver that Yzerman and co will be in on it. Now I appreciate the shouts that we don't have the stuff that Canucks probably want without giving the core. But figure it out somehow!
Would be nice to have pettersson raymond top line and larkin 2c we'd be really on our way up with just the d that needed help. That being said he apparently said he wants to stay and canucks are moving miller which is the right call
I dont know if we have what it takes to land him anyways + we'd have to send bodies they probably dont want to make the money work

Honestly, i'd hate to get rid of danielson and that would be literally my only hesitation in this deal for EP. I still think Danielson is a spinning image of larkin. problem is kasper looks like a less point producing zetterberg some nights. would throwing mazur in for danielson and another pick like 3rd work?

As someone who values Mazur higher than anyone else on the planet.... Yeah, of course you do that in a heartbeat. Because it's not even remotely close to being enough.

Just saw something that said Mateychuk is expected to stay up the rest of the year for Columbus. He was doing extremely well at the AHL level prior to his call-up. I think that makes it pretty likely Provorov gets moved before the deadline. I am really hoping we are exploring this.

I'd have 0 problem throwing mazur WITH danielson, wont if I dont have 2 but I would. We cant fit all these prospects coming. Realistically mazur will be on the 4th line here if hes on the team with or without pettersson

I think they would. Problem is the salary and I'd 110% have np making those guys available at 3.75 per . We have a bunch of cheap contracts coming and spots will be needed

The team needs to build around rugged physical 2 way play. They need to focus on guys who can skate and have good possession metrics. Tarasenko, Kane, compher, all of these guys have horrible possession metrics and don’t bring anything when they aren’t scoring. They need to find a way to move them. Dont re-sign Kane, try and move compher or tarasenko, trade for a solid steady physical bottom pairing and see if you can swing a trade for steady LD for Mo. that’s what they should be doing, if their first rounder is in the mid teen range I’d totally be okay with moving it. But for the love of god stop giving out high cap hit contracts to old players that can’t do anything without the puck.

I think with all the 2 way rugged guys around/coming, there's room for a guy like Kane to be a PP specialist. Tarasenko and Compher have just sucked this year which is more the problem for them. Last year I saw no issues with Comphers possession game... he was a zone entry guy on the PP. No clue what happened to him this year

Compher's faceoffs have really fallen off the cliff this year too, I think he is playing through something (likely core related), maybe a few days off will help him recover, the wings should have at least one RH center for D-zone reasons.
The team plays a much different game when Kane is out...but maybe Todd can correct that, because, yes, they should have room for a Kane on the team, they need his line become the change up line, not what everyone tries to emulate.

This franchise makes so little sense it is absolutely wild to me. I mean as much as people complain about Yzerman and this rebuild there is a reason why he didn't rush all of his young guys into the NHL just to have them exposed. It creates a losing culture.
How does a team with the skill of Thompson, Power, Byram, Dahlin, Peterka, Tuch, Cozens, etc fail this epically.
