I'm not sure Barzal's really been a center for a few years now. He's also been hurt a lot in his career, is lousy at the dot, and makes $9m for the next six years. At that point, I'd rather roll the dice on Cozens or see what we'd need to add to get EP.
Attah boy my man!

Now we're not getting wild trying to off the farm but we want EP! I know the value of the farm. ;) :naughty:

Lidstrom was on a swedish NHL radio show the other day they asked him about Pettersson to Detroit. And he said they'd absolutely be interested if he's ready to be traded and that they're following the situation of course.

Also asked him about ASP if he could do the same journey as Raymond and make the NHL roster straight away. He was a bit diplomatic there and said that they want their most talented and important players to play top minutes otherwise it's better to be in the AHL and work on your game.
Our #2 RHD next yr is Holl.

Sounds like ASP starting the yr in Detroit to me.

I don’t mind the idea of Risto but I feel the acquisition cost is more than he is worth.

If Holl and a pick and/or a prospect could get it done I’d pull the trigger.

Really, wouldn't be against Miller if the deal is right. I know folks are worried about timelines and our core, but he would go a long way to making us competitive now, and his cap hit would leave us a good amount of wiggle room to go after more help.

If everything does go to hell in Vancouver and they feel it necessary to move one of those guys, neither would be a bad thing for us.

I flip flop on it, but then watch a game with Copp at 2C and it's just old already.

You hear rumors about Zibanejad for Miller and such. That sounds so bad for Vancouver, I'd rather get pieces that maybe you could then trade instead of that kind of move. But that's just me.

I've never been a big Zibenejad fan, but I don't follow NYR. His stats are a bit down this year, but he was a PPG in the playoffs last year, and was very productive in the long run they had a couple of years before that. I really don't like his contract, but I don't really get why I see NYR fans bagging on him all of the time.

Yeah I agree some dudes just get blameless and others dragged. Panarin only had 2 more goals than Zib.

Also Miller wouldn't be my first choice at all but I could understand Yzerman being interested for the reasons you stated.

Absolutely not to Miller...the wuslity of the player is irrelevant when he is his age...

If we add via trade it should be only for someone under 26...then we debate the value/worth of the player
