There are other issues with him making (potentially) available for tradeWhat does that say about Petterson then?

I heard something happened with him and J.T. Miller but I can't find more than that...There are other issues with him making (potentially) available for trade
Unless they retain salary or take Copp/Compher it makes no sense for the Wings
You guys would be ok giving up real assets and paying his entire salary?
Maybe it won't be Cozens, but eventually Yzerman is gonna have to make a move.I am in favor of acquiring Cozens if possible, but I have liked him going back to his draft year.
I like adding a young big body center that is RH and can score. He is overpaid relative to what he has done the last 2 years, so maybe the cost to acquire would be lower.
I would be interested in buying low on him, I think him and Larkin could be a pretty good 1-2 punch. Also think he could do well with moving to wing at some point if need be, could use a big RH winger that can score.
I'm ok with it.Unless they retain salary or take Copp/Compher it makes no sense for the Wings

I think it would have to involve one of Copp/Compher to keep us cap compliant. Then you sweeten with some picks/prospects as needed.Unless they retain salary or take Copp/Compher it makes no sense for the Wings

Sounds lovely. However this is the problem with bringing home mid Michigan talent. Both have modified no trades, and I doubt either is interested in leaving home to waive and go to Buffalo or Vancouver.I think it would have to involve one of Copp/Compher to keep us cap compliant. I'm gonna need you to elaborate a little further on what you mean by picks/prospects as a "sweetener" in this scenarioI think it would have to involve one of Copp/Compher to keep us cap compliant. Then you sweeten with some picks/prospects as needed.
Well the bundling of picks and prospects is what makes the other team want those guys.Sounds lovely. However this is the problem with bringing home mid Michigan talent. Both have modified no trades, and I doubt either is interested in leaving home to waive and go to Buffalo or Vancouver.
No doubt Buffalo is on both their lists, Vancouver I would say is 50/50.
Not to mention, you need the other team to want these guys, which right now is also a hard sell.
I think 22-23 Cozens had some underlying numbers that show he's, not really that guy and they aren't repeatable. However, last year he was still a 20 goal 50 point guy basically at 22 years old.Cozens does seem risky. Not playing up to his contract right now.
Then I look at all the success some young guys have had once they get out of Buffalo. Then I am reminded of Cozens 22-23 season. I get the intrigue.
I'm in lock-step with that assessment. Maybe we're being major buzzkills but someone needs to tell the others hockey trade Santa isn't real.Petterson for Cozens + makes sense.
Cozens to Detroit makes sense
Petterson to Detroit will not happen
Outside Cossa There is no one in our core is potential first line player and if we could have big upgrade , we should consider. It's all depends on return. Larkin , Raymond, Ed and Cossa should not be available, everyone else ?The most I’d do is Copp+Rasmussen+2nd for Cozens at full salary
Pettersson I go Debrincat+Kasper+++
Our core and ASP is off the table
A trade involving Ras/Veleno/Copp/Compher/Berggren/Tarasenko makes a lot of sense if Yzerman can swing a 3 for 1 type trade with a forward that moves the needle

i agree that debrincat is our most valuable non-core asset, but trading him back to canada after he basically strong-armed his way home would be such a d*ck moveThe most I’d do is Copp+Rasmussen+2nd for Cozens at full salary
