I seem to recall the next CBA the GMs/owners would prefer a reduced limit for RFA and UFA contract lengths (8 years down to 6 for RFAs and 7 years down to 5 for UFAs).

NHLPA would then likely counter having UFA age dropped to 25, or 26…We’ll see.
I have np with how it is now I have a problem with GM's being stupid lmao

I'd hate to lose a generation talent we drafted a year or 2 early to ufa. Would be good if they can have teams have 1 player that wouldn't count against the cap but I think would cause headaches with the 50/50 split

Or at least have a 3rd goalie teams can sign and carry and wouldnt count against the cap. Teams can send that goalie down for conditioning at times. Too many goalie injuries now

Cant have barry from the stands get called in to a game anymore lol

pfft, no one calls guys out from the stands to play goalie. Those are the zamboni drivers.

Whatever happens they better not lose games over it. The system they have seems to work pretty well, and shouldn't need any massive changes. They lose games over stupid stuff, they're going to lose fans.
