Hope the hang up is Yzerman's involved! o_Oo_Oo_Oo_O:sarcasm::naughty::naughty::naughty::naughty::popcorn:

I'm not sure Elias ever wanted to sign that contract there but the offer was just too good on the table...

Not saying i'd like it but how would Red Wings beat the Sabers "proposed" deal?

Yeah, Borgen is very good defensively. People just don't know it when he plays there at far west.
Hes a 28 year old with 240 games to him and Hes got the highest + - on the team with -13

Hes nothing to brag about. Pending ufa and wont be back. Rangers will trade for another dman

You know for a fact that they would have taken an equal offer from us?
I know for a fact yzerman never called lol

I'd love to snag Petterson. I had hoped we would trade up to pick him when he was drafted. With that said I don't think the Wings have the parts to get him vs the Sabres.

They have semi established young guys, we either have guys we can't afford to trade Seider, Ed, Ray or prospects. Vancouver can't afford to to trade him for mostly prospects when they are in their cup window. Couzens + Byram helps now.

We'd have to do something like straight up for Ray or like Ed + Kasper/ Danielson. I wouldn't want to give up Ed or Ray. Normally I'd deal a winger for a center in a heart beat but I really think Ray has the makings of a really special player and playoff performer and I'd be very loathe to give him up even if he maybe produces a bit less in the Reg season over the course of their careers.

Don't know what's been going on in Seattle this season, but Borgen had been a solid d-man for them the previous two seasons and is a more useful player for the Rangers than anyone on Detroit with a similar or smaller expiring Cap hit. They traded Trouba and have lost Miller to IR, they needed a big body on D. Guys complaining we didn't get Kappo are also arguing -- apparently without being aware of iit -- Rangers would have been better off adding Petry.

Yeah Edvinsson/ASP are pretty much non-starters, Raymond/Larkin/Seider are non starters....

I can wrap my mind something around Cossa/Danielson/1st round pick but it'll take more and idk how much more is worth it.

If the Buffalo offer is real, it's a good offer.

I dont see anyway Vancouver would be interested in Cossa + Danielson over Byram + Cozens.

If you want to beat out a Byram + Cozens offer you are probably looking at Edvinsson + Kasper. Maybe something else going Vancouver's way as well.

Edvinsson would definitely need to be involved. I doubt adding Rasmussen or Berggren is enough.

Id rather keep our pieces.

He's alright, as a bottom pair, really average middle guy, won't be surprised to see him moved at the TDL for a 4-6th rdp by the Rangers to a playoff contender looking for a cheap upgrade at the bottom.

Straight up... it's actually tempting but idk if I'm not pumped to ever put Edvinsson in a trade scenario again. I don't mind losing Kasper for Elias, Edvinsson's just looking like a guy that can evolve into Norris Trophy stuff at times this year.

Pettersson is a signed multi-30goal, 100-point player/center within the rebuild time frame... Really tough. Extremely lucky to ever draft a player as good as him.

The fact I don't feel good about it, prolyl means it's a "fair" trade. lol.

Swapping Ed for Petey feels a little too much like robbing peter to pay paul. This team has spent the better part of a decade looking for some 1st pair caliber Dmen. We've got 2 now and I wouldn't to give that up.

Petey is a stud but I think we are better off looking elsewhere.

To me, Ed, Seider, Ray and Larkin are all nearly untouchable. Those are the guys I want to build around.

Tommy Novak would be an interesting pick up. He has two 45 point seasons but is struggling and buried a little ways down Nashville's lineup.

He seems like a good change of scenery target but Im not sure if Nashville would be ready to give up on him.

Byram is piece we can't really beat. Cozens is a guy with potential, but whose been up and down, and is now being seen more as a wing than center. If Vancouver doesn't see Cozens as a center, that deal gives them an issues with who centers that second line behind Miller. They then have to make another deal to fill that hole.

Well damn, what a crappy night to have our #1 defenseman Ben Chiarot end up with 0 points in a game where we scored 6. Hopefully they saw enough of his other aspects of his game in his 29 minutes of ice time to know that he's just the veteran presence they need

Isn’t it equally as possible they were there to scout Philly?

Friedman is usually good about being clear with whom he is talking about and for an aggregator Hanna is good about not misleading his messaging. I feel pretty confident Friedman was specifically discussion Buffalo and Detroit.

Thanks. Just seems very unlikely division rivals with the same general contention window would make a deal right now.

Prob just walks in free agency. I know it's a shit show in ny right now but I still cant see them missing the playoffs.

Too much talent there . I know it'll hurt some fans here after we smashed the almighty flyers last night
