24/25 Waivers/Rumors/TDL Thread.

If we still haven’t turned the ship around by the 40 game mark here’s what I would do.
Trade deadline:
Alex Lyon to the avalanche for a 2nd or a 3rd, making use of how desperate they are.
See if you can sell chiarot for literally anything, if not use that pick acquired from avalanche to cap dump him.
Offseason:
buyout one of holl or Gustafson just to get them off the roster. Run the other one as 7d.
Trade Michael Rasmussen, Albert Johansson and our own 2nd to Boston for Brandon Carlo.
Trade Andrew copp and a 4th for Jacob trouba 25% retained (or something along these lines).
don’t re-sign kane, or petry.
You do these moves then run rookies like ASP with Carlo or wallinder with Carlo or our 7d in the other defenseman spots and losing Rasmussen and copp gives us spots for rookies or to maybe get someone decent for short term in free agency. I feel like this really would transform our team. Granted it’s a ton of moves but a LOT of moves need to be made.

Heard Minnesota are the front runners for David jiricek .... no idea how that's possible cant see them moving on from buium or some recent 1sts they drafted
Doubt this happens but also heard k'andre miller might be available... if that's the case I'd say we have to jump hard on him. Hes about to turn 25 so can be here longterm 6'5 body that would solidify our top 4 for a very long time

This season is looking like a wash. I don't think we'll get a hot streak with the total lack of firepower on the team.
Tarasenko and Copp traded at 50% retention each. Patrick Kane gone. Trade Gus for future considerations or buy him out. Trade Veleno for something.
Try to get Trouba to waive and join Detroit. If not, make a move for Ekblad. Shea Theodore is also a great option.
Sign Boeser or Ehlers. Maybe a guy like Vatrano for the 3rd line to boost scoring lower in the lineup.

The sad comedy is Veleno is still in the NHL while Zadina is…..
But yeah - at this point I’d trade Veleno for Rempe for the entertainment value.
zadina is 2nd in scoring in Davos impregnating all the swiss girls ... hes got the last laugh

The prophecy is true but a couple years late and the details were fuzzy. Davos is Montreal and "nets" are being filled.

Fabbro has been good for jackets so far, small size but stings a little.
Seems like buying chumps in free agency is not as good as just getting the Fabbro, Liljegrens of the world.

Switzerland is such a beautiful country... he basically struck out in the NHL and landed in a great situation anyways. Couple hour road trips max, clean & safe country, stunning mountain ranges.

He'll never make up the money he lost leaving Detroit, but he's still doing well. 4.56 million forfeited, 1.1 made back from the Sharks. 3.46 million left on the table after having a guaranteed signed contract. lol. He'll have to play 8-10 years in Switzerland to make that type of money back. Still... good life, very good life still.

Yeah, he'll be fine. Even leaving multi millions on the table, literally, he's still a millionaire playing hockey in Switzerland making six figures sleeping at home almost EVERY night if he wants to.
How terrible... lol. If you're bad at hockey like me, you go back to the farm or sell insurance... I choose the farm; I'd easily give it up to have had a 10-year career in Switzerland (or SHL/KHL/DEL)

Zadina looks a lot happier being the big fish in a small pond, being an NHL average skater and size means elite for NL. Watched some highlights, and he's faster and stronger than most of the opponents.
Here's something funny though, they have him on the left side for the PP. When he played the right side, he'd camp out at the FO dot and whiff on one timers, he does a lot better with his snap shot especially with that much time and space. I always said he needs to play left wing so he gets out of the mode where he tries the same move every time.
Is damon hunt suppose to be like this really good prospect cause that jiricek trade looks like garbage lol
I know we got seider and pellikka but if it were possible to get a 1st from a contending team like Colorado for talbot I'd do it hands down and throw in a 2nd and a wallinder/johanson/buium for jiricek
That minnesota 1st will be late lol ... seems like a weak return. These are the type of deals yzerman should be in on. Cutter gauthier got dealt for a guy who seems to be a bust ... next prospect that's unhappy yzerman should be in on
