Yet, everyone is okay with Walker and a late 1st at 50% bonus paid on July 1st.?

Pure lunacy.

Like, I'd rather keep him at that point.

Yes. It gives us a RHD that can fill a role for a year or two that we can then cycle into further futures and a 1st round pick.

That's the goal of the Penguins right now and likely why we fired Mike Sullivan.

It's the same exact thing the Penguins did in the Guentzel trade with Bunting, take on a depreciated asset to "help the team now" but flip in the future for more value. They turned Bunting into Novak and a 2nd and I bet they end up turning Novak into another pick down the line as well.

Walker falls in the same category. You'd be getting Walker and a late 1st for Karlsson, try to build up Walker's value by playing him in a larger role than he was playing in Carolina and then likely flip him for more futures down the line.

The sooner you accept the Penguins are rebuilding, the easier it will be with you to cope with the moves they're going to be making.

This is the Rakell discussion all over again. This team is a seller. Sellers sell players for draft picks. There is literally no reason to say no to something like Walker and a 1st for Karlsson because Karlsson simply will not have more value and there is no benefit to the rebuild for keeping him.

And I do believe he has already stated they have done enough of those kinds of deals, and he has said they are switching to the next part of their plan. Nothing has changed in the plan because Sully was let go.

Karlsson's power of where he goes dictates the return. Kyle is at the mercy of or he holds onto him.

People reading into him wanting Karlsson to do more when the entire team is lacking seriously (his own admission) calling out Karlsson seems kind of stupid for him doing Karlsson things "he's always done."

Dubas literally called him out for being himself.

Calling trading UFA's rebuilding..... Ha.....

Maybe they need to trade top players with term before you can call it that.

The Capitals method.....

Maybe you should stick to the Pirates, it's your kind of play book.

It would never happen but it would be nice to see what Karlsson can do under a new coach and trade Letang instead. Karlsson excelled in SJ once Burns was traded and he was the go to Dman.

I would imagine Letang at this point in his career is essentially worthless as a trade asset. 3 more years at $6.1 million for a 38 year old defenseman with a laundry list of health issues who has clearly lost at least a step or two.

You keep saying this over and over again but Dubas literally never said that.

This is Rakell all over again, you're saying that 1st round picks mean nothing and acting like this team isn't rebuilding because you don't want them to be rebuilding.

Which is why I said it would never happen. Just saying it would be interesting to see because I think all pens fans have been disappointed in Karlsson.

Letang may be a good mentor for Huston in Montreal tbh. Not that the kid needs pointers, but Letang's had a 20 year career of HHOF play and not many guys in the league are up to Letang's standard when it comes to fitness and training.

1. HURR DA PENGUINS GOTTA GET TUFFER
2. GOALERS GON BE SAME NEXT YR
3. TEH DEFENZ SUX
4. GRAVES TRADE MAYBE MAYBE NOT LOL

Same old "I don't actually know anything but I had to turn in something" BS
Don't forget the note above the article saying it was all written before Sullivan was fired. Which also means one of Yohe's sources is likely gone.

Sid may be upset, because Dubas didnt consult him about the Sully firing, or because Yohe didnt about roster moves. Either or.
OMG...Sid wants out doesn't he? DOESN'T HE?

He hasn't spoken to the media yet because he's so mad right now he can't see straight. Major rift between him and Dubas now. Major.

Saying the Pens need to get bigger and tougher is a really weird like 2018 era take by Yohe. They need to get better. It doesn't matter what form that takes. This isn't a good but flawed roster that needs more toughness or a powerplay guy or blah blah blah. It needs literally everything except for a number one center lol. It's just awful all around.

Actually he wont speak to Pens media period. Demanded a trade to the Avs and be authorized to play in the playoffs because hes GOAT

Dubas said it was a five minute conversation between him and Sid. I bet the conversation went something like this:

Dubas: Hey Sid. Sorry to tell you this, but we're moving on from Sully.

Sid: That's unfortunate.

Dubas: Yeah. We're still trying to build a winner here and I'll keep plugging away doing xyz to try and get us back into contention.

Sid: Sounds good, I appreciate the head's up.

*click*

I doubt it went any deeper than that. People have been fiending for Sid to get upset at shit the Pens have done for years now and it's never happened lol

I bet Sid talks on the phone and texts the exact same way he speaks to the media.

I agree with getting bigger and tougher. I want Dubas to collect all the enforcers in the league and tank with dignity. Might lose every game in regulation, but they'll win every fight should be the team's motto for the next 3 years.

I mean I guess. Nobody really fights any more so getting a bunch of plug guys who can bang doesn't do a whole lot.

Oh 100%. There's no way he's saying anything controversial even on the phone. My man is too guarded for that.

Not all. He was 12th in defenseman scoring while being tied to a shitty defensive system that prevented Karlsson from being Karlsson. With a new coach and new system, we could get not quite 2022-23 Karlsson but better than last years Karlsson.
